Stampin’ Up! Picture Perfect Birthday in Halloween Colors & Santa’s Workshop Card Pack Is Back!!

I used the Stampin’ Up! Picture Perfect Birthday, Wishing You Well and Playful Backgrounds stamp sets to create a clean and simple birthday card for the Fab Friday color challenge this week.

Here are the colors for Fab Friday 148.  Stop by the challenge blog to play along too!  I think that I win the award for using the tiniest amount of Pumpkin Pie ever.  😉

My card design was inspired by As You See It Challenge #186.

I started by stamping the sentiment from the Picture Perfect Birthday photopolymer stamp set in Tuxedo Black Memento ink on a panel of Whisper White card stock.  Then I embossed the panel with the Subtle Embossing Folder.  I adhered the embossed panel to a panel of Basic Black card stock with SNAIL.

I punched the ends of strips of DSP from the Brights 6″ x 6″ DSP pack and the Toil & Trouble DSP pack with the Banner Triple Punch and adhered them to the embossed panel with SNAIL.  I stamped the dot images from the Playful Background photopolymer stamp set in Tuxedo Black Memento ink and Gorgeous Grape ink and the bow image from the Wishing You Well stamp in Gorgeous Grape ink on a panels of Whisper White card stock, punched the ends with the Banner Triple Punch and then adhered them to the card front with SNAIL.

I wrapped a strand of Basic Black Solid Baker’s Twine around the panel twice and tied a bow, then adhered the layered panel to a Gorgeous Grape card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I colored a Rhinestone Basic Jewel with the Dark Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blends Marker and adhered it to the card front, then added a clear rhinestone next to it to finish the card front.

I stamped the sentiment from the Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set in Tuxedo Black Memento ink and the bow from the Wishing You Well stamp set in Gorgeous Grape ink on a panel of Whisper White card stock to finish the inside of the card.

  1. I was so happy to see you used the Playful Backgrounds set. I ordered it by mistake and just couldn’t figure out what to do with it. I hope you’ll demonstrate it again 🙂 Your little dab of pumpkin pie is delicious. Love the simplicity of your card.

  2. Oh, Amy, this is a most creative and lovely card. I have done all over stamping for a background piece, but wouldn’t have thought to do it for the strips as you have here. Love it. And, yes, less is more. Any more Pumpkin Pie would have spoiled the card. That little tidbit is perfect!

    • Thanks Julie! The striped paper is actually from the Toil & Trouble DSP pack. The purple and black dots/circles images are from the Playful Backgrounds set. 🙂

  3. haha, I’m laughing at how you snuck in that orange dot, LOL….beautiful card, that purple is just so rich against the black and white and the designer paper works perfectly with your project and sketch too, Love everything about it

  4. Simple, bright and beautiful! I did have to hunt for the Pumpkin Pie – sneaky and clever! Thanks for joining us at As You See It Challenge.

  5. Cute, fun card, and yes, I agree…you DO win the prize for the tiniest bit of Pumpkin Pie ever! But I do see it there! Purple is a hard color for me, so you’ve already made an admirer of me right off the bat! Thanks for playing with our challenge this week as well!

    • Thanks for stopping by to leave a comment! Purple is hard for me to use too…this color scheme was definitely a challenge! 🙂
