Stampin’ Up! By The Dock for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

I used the Stampin’ Up! By the Dock stamp set bundle from the January-June 2020 Mini Catalog (ordering starts tomorrow!!!) to create my card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop.  We’ve got a sketch challenge this week and here is what I created for it.

Here is the sketch that we’re using this week:

I started by adhering a strip of Post-It Note Tape over a panel of Whisper White card stock so that it covered approximately 1″ near the top.  I used a Sponge Brayer to add Balmy Blue ink over the uncovered area.  Then I removed the tape and moved it down over the sponged area and added So Saffron ink with a Sponge Brayer at the top.  I stamped the wave and boat images from the By The Dock stamp set (available Jan 3) on the panel in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and then adhered the panel to the front of a Balmy Blue card base with SNAIL.

I cut a frame with two of the Stitched Rectangle Dies from a panel of Pressed Petals Specialty DSP and adhered it to the card front with Foam Adhesive Strips.  Then I stamped the boat and dock images from the By The Dock stamp set in Tuxedo Black Memento ink on a panel of Whisper White card stock.  I used Light and Dark Crumb Cake, Old Olive and Gray Granite Stampin’ Blends Markers to color the images.  I also used the Color Lifter to lighten.  I cut the stamped images with the coordinating Dockside Dies (available Jan 3) and adhered them with Stampin’ Dimensionals to the card front.

I stamped the sentiment from the Heart To Heart photopolymer stamp set (available Jan 3) in VersaMark ink on a panel of Soft Suede card stock and then heat embossed it with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  I cut the sentiment out with a Stitched Rectangle Die and then I used that same die to cut the bottom off the die cut to make the long, narrow rectangle.  I adhered the sentiment with SNAIL and Stampin’ Dimensionals and then added a gold pearl from the Metallic Pearls pack to finish the card front.

I stamped the dock image from the By The Dock stamp set in Tuxedo Black Memento ink on a panel of Whisper White card stock and then colored it with Light and Dark Crumb Cake, Gray Granite and Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blends Markers and the Color Lifter to finish the inside of the card.
