Stampin’ Up! Flowering Rain Boots Birthday Card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

I used the Stampin’ Up! Flowering Rain Boots stamp set bundle to create my project for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop.  We’ve got a theme challenge this week and this is what I made for it.

Stampin' Up! Flowering Rain Boots Birthday Card

Here is the theme that we’re using this week:

I started by applying Smoky Slate ink with a Blending Brush to a panel of Basic White card stock with one of the Butterflies & Flowers Layering Decorative Masks.  I let the ink dry completely and then stamped the sentiment from the Artfully Layered stamp set in VersaMark ink on the panel, sprinkled it with gold embossing powder from the Metallics Embossing Powders and then heat embossed it.  I adhered the inked panel to the front of a Thick Basic White card base with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

I wrapped a length of Black & White 1/4″ Gingham Ribbon around the card front twice and secured it in one of the areas that would be covered by the floral die cuts.  I pulled another strand of Black & White Gingham Ribbon around one of the wrapped lengths on the card front and tied a small bow.  Then I stamped the flowerpot and flower images from the Flowering Rain Boots photopolymer stamp set in Cinnamon Cider and Tuxedo Black Memento inks on a panel of Basic White card stock.  I colored the flower centers with a Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends Marker and then cut the images out with the coordinating Rain Boots Dies.

I cut another panel of Basic White card stock with one of the Hippo & Friends Dies three times and then adhered the die cut flower images with Mini Glue Dots to the die cut octagons.  I adhered the three die cut images to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals and then added two Brushed Brass Butterflies to finish the card front.

  1. What a sweet card Amy. I am a ribbon gal and that ribbon and bow just make that card the cutest. Love the pots of flowers, reminds me spring is just around the corner.
