Stampin’ Up! Perched In A Tree Thank You Card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

I used the Stampin’ Up! Perched In A Tree stamp set bundle to create my project for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop.  We’ve got a theme challenge this week and this is what I made for it.

Stampin' Up! Perched In A Tree Thank You Card

Here is the theme that we’re using this week:

My card also works for the Global Design Project #GDP371 theme this week.

I started by cutting a panel of Basic White card stock with the large die from the Aspen Tree Dies.  I adhered a panel of the Snowflake Specialty Vellum (unfortunately this paper just sold out but you can stamp snowflakes in VersaMark ink on a panel of vellum and heat emboss them to get a very similar look!) to the back of the die cut panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Then I adhered the layered panel to the front of a Night Of Navy card base with Multipurpose Liquid Glue hidden under the areas covered by the die cut.

I stamped the bird and branch images from the Perched In A Tree stamp set in Tuxedo Black Memento ink on a panel of Basic White card stock and then colored the bird with Light and Dark Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends Markers and the branch with Light and Dark Soft Suede Stampin’ Blends Markers.  I cut the images out with the coordinating Aspen Tree Dies and then added a little Snowfall Accents Puff Paint to the branch.  I heated the puff paint until it “puffed” and then adhered the die cut bird and branch with Mini Glue Dots to the card front.

I tied a small bow from Linen Thread and adhered it with a Mini Glue Dot to the card front.  Then I stamped the sentiment from the Perched In A Tree stamp set in VersaMark ink on a panel of Balmy Blue card stock, sprinkled it with white embossing powder and then heat embossed it.  I cut the sentiment out with one of the Stitched Rectangle Dies and adhered it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I added three Iridescent Pearl Basic Jewels to the card front to finish it.

I stamped the bird image from the Perched In A Tree stamp set in Crumb Cake ink on a panel of Basic White card stock to finish the inside of the card.
