Stampin’ Up! Tropical Leaf Hello Card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

I used the Tropical Leaf stamp set bundle from Stampin’ Up!’s Online Exclusives to create my project for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop.  We’ve got a sketch challenge this week and this is what I made for it.

Stampin' Up! Tropical Leaf Hello Card

Here is the sketch that we’re using this week:

I started by inking the Tropical Hideaway stamp in Gray Granite ink, stamping it on scrap paper and then stamping it on a panel of Basic White card stock.  Quick Tip:  Use the Stamparatus and an oversized panel of Basic White to make the large image stamping quick and easy.  Then I cut the center of the stamped panel with one of the Stitched Rectangle Dies and then adhered the outside “frame” to the front of a Thick Basic White card base with Stampin’ Seal.

I adhered the center die cut to a panel of Gray Granite card stock with Stampin’ Seal and then adhered the die cut panel back in place on the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I adhered a small strip of Flowers & More DSP (host exclusive item) to the card front with Stampin’ Seal.  Then I stamped the leaf image from the Tropical Leaf stamp set (Online Exclusive item) in Parakeet Party ink on a panel of Basic White card stock three times and then stamped the leaf veins in Garden Green ink over the solid leaf.  I punched the three leaves out with the Tropical Leaf Punch (Online Exclusive item) and then adhered two of the leaves with Mini Glue Dots to the card front.

I stamped the sentiment from the Tropical Leaf stamp set in Night Of Navy ink on a panel of Pool Party card stock and then cut around it with one of the Stylish Shapes Dies.  I adhered the die cut sentiment with Stampin’ Seal to the card front and then adhered the final leaf over the sentiment with Mini Glue Dots.  I added three dots from the Glossy Dots Assortment to finish the card front.

I stamped the smaller leaf image from the Tropical Leaf stamp set in Parakeet Party ink on a panel of Basic White card stock and then aded the leaf veins in Garden Green ink to finish the inside of the card.

  1. That background stamping is awesome…love that you did it in gray to make the leaves jump right off the card! I wish I had an iota your talent! TFS
