Stampin’ Up! Ice Cream Swirl Birthday Card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

I used the Stampin’ Up! Ice Cream Swirl stamp set bundle from the upcoming January-April 2024 Mini Catalog to create my project for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop.  We’ve got a theme challenge this week and this is what I made for it.

Stampin' Up! Ice Cream Swirl Birthday Card

Here is the theme for our blog hop this week:

I CASE’d these cards from the January-April 2024 Mini Catalog cover and I made them so that they will fit inside a standard A2 envelope at angle.  Yay!

I started by cutting a panel of Crumb Cake card stock with ice cream cone and ice cream cone details dies from the Ice Cream Swirl Dies (available January 4).  I folded the die cut in half to create the card base.

Then I cut panels of Pool Party, Coastal Cabana, Bubble Bath, Berry Burst, Lemon Lime Twist and Granny Apple Green card stocks with the ice cream and detailed ice cream dies from the Ice Cream Swirl Dies.  I adhered the die cut pieces together with Multipurpose Liquid Glue and then to the top of the ice cream cones with Stampin’ Seal+.

I applied Adhesive Sheets to the back of Bubble Bath, Lemon Lime Twist and Pool Party card stocks and then cut the panels with the sentiment from the Wanted To Say Dies.  I cut a panel of Basic White card stock with the outline from the Wanted To Say Dies and then adhered the die cuts together with the Adhesive Sheets.  I adhered the sentiments to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the straw, cherry and strawberry images from the Ice Cream Swirl stamp set in Tuxedo Black Memento ink on a panel of Basic White card stock.  I colored the stamped images with Light and Dark Flirty Flamingo, Lemon Lime Twist, Lemon Lolly and Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends Markers.

I cut the stamped pieces out with the Ice Cream Swirl Dies and adhered the die cuts to the cards with Mini Glue Dots and Stampin’ Dimensionals to finish the card fronts.

I stamped the sentiment from the Ice Cream Swirl stamp set in Tuxedo Black Memento ink on the inside of each card to finish them.

  1. What fun cards! It’s great that the card can flip and also fit in the A2 envelopes. I love the look of sentiments with outlines. Great colors. Enjoy your day!
