Stampin’ Up! Beach Day Birthday Card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

I used the Stampin’ Up! Beach Day stamp set to create my project for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop.  We’ve got a theme challenge this week and this is what I made for it.

Stampin' Up! Beach Day Birthday Card

Here is the theme that we’re all using this week:

My card design also works for The Paper Players 697.

My card also works for the Just Us Girls Challenge Word Week #735.

I started by using a Blending Brush to apply Lemon Lolly ink to a panel of Pool Party card stock.  Then I punched a circle from Lemon Lolly card stock with the 1-3/4″ Circle Punch (Online Exclusive item returning around mid-August) and I adhered it to the Pool Party panel with Stampin’ Seal.  I used a Blending Brush to apply Summer Splash ink to the edges of the Pool Party card stock panel.  Then I cut panels of Crumb Cake and Summer Splash card stocks with the water and beach dies from the Beach Day Dies.  I applied Pecan Pie ink lightly along the edges of the Crumb Cake die cuts with a Blending Brush and then adhered the Crumb Cake die cuts with Stampin’ Seal to the Pool Party panel.

I adhered a strip of Basic White card stock to the back of the Summer Splash die cut water with Multipurpose Liquid Glue and then adhered the layered die cut to the card front with Stampin’ Seal.  I stamped the sentiment from the Beach Day photopolymer stamp set in in Summer Splash ink on the Pool Party panel and then adhered the layered panel to a panel of Basic White card stock with Stampin’ Seal.  I adhered the layered panel to the front of a Thick Basic White card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I cut panels of Granny Apple Green and Pecan Pie card stocks with the palm tree and grass dies from the Beach Day Dies and then adhered the die cuts to the Pool Party card stock panel with Multipurpose Liquid Glue and Mini Glue Dots.

I stamped the surfboard and bird images from the Beach Day stamp set in Tuxedo Black Memento ink on a panel of Basic White card stock.  I colored the surfboards and the beaks of the birds with Light and Dark Flirty Flamingo, Summer Splash and Lemon Lolly Stampin’ Blends Markers.  I cut the stamped images with the coordinating Beach Day Dies and adhered them with Mini Glue Dots to the card front.  I added two of the Pool Party dots from the Adhesive-Backed Dots For Days to finish the card front.
