I used the pretty new Beautiful Butterflies stamp set bundle from the upcoming Stampin’ Up! January-April 2025 Mini Catalog to create a quick fun fold birthday card to share with you today. I also did a video tutorial showing you how to create this on my YouTube channel here.
I started by cutting a Thick Basic White card base with the large butterfly die from the Beautiful Butterflies Dies (available January 7) and then I snipped the outer area off to create the fun fold card front. Then I adhered a panel of pattered paper from the Beautiful Bokeh 6″ x 6″ DSP (available January 7) to the “inside” of the card base with Stampin’ Seal.
I inked the butterfly wing images from the Beautiful Butterflies photopolymer stamp set in Fresh Freesia ink, stamped them on scrap paper and then stamped them over the die cut butterfly on the card front. I inked the dotted image from the Beautiful Butterflies stamp set in Fresh Freesia ink, stamped it on scrap paper and then stamped it around the edges of the wings. I snipped off the head of the butterfly and then cut a panel of Basic Black card stock twice with the largest butterfly body die from the Beautiful Butterflies Dies. I adhered the die cut bodies to the card front butterfly with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
I stamped the large butterfly image from the Beautiful Butterflies stamp set in Berry Burst ink on a panel of Basic White card stock and then cut it out with the Beautiful Butterflies Hybrid Embossing Folder & Dies (available January 7). I adhered the die cut butterfly to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals and then tied a bow with Linen Thread and adhered it with a Mini Glue Dot to the card front. I stamped the sentiment from the Beautiful Butterflies stamp set in VersaMark ink on a panel of Fresh Freesia card stock, sprinkled it with white embossing powder from the Basics Wow! Embossing Powder and then heat embossed it. I adhered the sentiment to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals and then added three Purple Adhesive-Backed Sequins ($60 level Sale-a-bration item available January 7) to finish the card front.
I cut another panel of Basic White card stock with the card front butterfly die, placing the top of the wings just over the edge of the panel so that the body was loose. I stamped the sentiment from the Beautiful Butterflies stamp set in Berry Burst ink on the butterfly and then adhered the butterfly die cut inside the card with Stampin’ Seal to finish it.
I made the card with the colors reversed on my YouTube Live…I think that I like the Fresh Freesia card even better than the Berry Burst card!
