I used the Stampin’ Up! Gears & Textures stamp set bundle to create a quick birthday card to share with you today. I also created this card in a quick video out on YouTube this morning and you can see that video right here.
My card design was inspired by Freshly Made Sketches #720.
I started by inking the lined, splatter and crosshatch images from the Gears & Textures stamp set in Pecan Pie ink, stamping them on scrap paper and then stamping them across the front of a Pecan Pie card base. Then I inked the same images in Misty Moonlight ink, stamped then on scrap paper twice and then stamped them across a panel of patterned paper from the Square Snippets DSP. I adhered the stamped panel to a panel of Misty Moonlight card stock with Stampin’ Seal and then to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I adhered strips of Adhesive Sheets to the back of a panel of Textured Metallic Specialty Paper and then cut the panel with four of the Gears & Textures Dies. I adhered the circle frame and gear center to the larger gear die cut with the Adhesive Sheets and then adhered the two gears to the card front with Mini Glue Dots.
I tied a bow with Linen Thread and adhered it to the card front with a Mini Glue Dot. Then I stamped the sentiment from the Simply Said stamp set in VersaMark ink on a panel of Misty Moonlight card stock, sprinkled it with copper embossing powder from the Metallics Wow! Embossing Powder and then heat embossed it. I cut the sentiment out with one of the Wonderful Thoughts Dies and then adhered it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals to finish the card front.
I stamped the sentiment from the Simply Said stamp set in Misty Moonlight ink and the lined, splatter and crosshatch image from the Gears & Textures stamp set in Pecan Pie ink on a panel of Basic White card stock to finish the inside of the card.
