Pleasant Poppies Love Card Plus An Announcement!

I created this card for a Split Coast Sketch Challenge.  I used one of my very favorite stamps from the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog called Pleasant Poppies.  And I used one of my favorite new items from the Holiday Catalog, the Illuminate Glimmer Watermark Stampin’ Pad.  It adds beautiful shimmer to anything that you use it on.  It was a little difficult to photograph, the shimmer looks fabulous in real life.  I took pictures from two different angles to try to show the shimmer of the ink better.  The heart image is one of the new single stamps that are for sale from Stampin’ Up! through January 2, 2013.

To make this card you will need:

  • Love Heart Clear-Mount Stamp (132334)
  • Pleasant Poppies Stamp (126480 wood, 129499 clear)
  • Very Vanilla Card Stock (101650)
  • Crumb Cake Card Stock (120953)
  • Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper Stack (126904)
  • Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder (127819)
  • Full Heart Punch (119883)
  • Floral Frames Framelits (127012)
  • Crumb Cake 1/2″ Seam Binding (122332)
  • Illuminate Glimmer Watermark Stampin Pad (126857)
  • Crumb Cake Classic Stampin’ Pad (126975)
  • Stampin’ Dimensionals (104430)

I started by stamping the Pleasant Poppies image with the Illuminate Glimmer Watermark ink on a 4″x5.25″ pieces of Crumb Cake Card Stock.  Then I slide the edges of the card stock across the ink pad to give the edges a little shimmer too and ran the Crumb Cake Seam Binding from top to bottom.  Then I cut a piece of 2.5″x2.5″ Very Vanilla Card Stock and embossed it with the Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder that I had rubbed Crumb Cake ink on.  I layered a piece of Very Vanilla Card Stock behind the embossed piece, then I took those pieces and rubbed the entire square across the Illuminate Glimmer Watermark pad.  Next I cut the Festival of Prints DSP to 2.25″x3″ and layered a piece of Very Vanilla Card Stock behind it.  I also slide the edges of that piece of card stock and DSP across the Illuminate Glimmer Watermark ink pad as well.   I adhered both of those pieces to the front of my card using Stampin’ Dimensionals under the DSP section.  The final piece is the heart.  I stamped the image in Crumb Cake ink on Very Vanilla, then I inked up the stamp with the Illuminate Glimmer Watermark ink and used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the images and I stamped over the Crumb Cake image with the shimmery ink too!  I punched the image out using the Full Heart Punch and I cut the scalloped shape behind the heart using the Floral Frames Framelits.  Then I slide that card stock across the Illuminate Glimmer Watermark ink pad…by this time my hands were quite a shimmery mess!  Finally, I adhered the heart image using Stampin’ Dimensionals then adhered the card front to a Crumb Cake Card Stock base.  I hope that my photos do this card justice.  🙂
