Best of Flowers Crumb Cake Card

Today I’m sharing a card that I made for the Pals Paper Arts PPA154 – An Inviting Color Challenge.  I used the new Best of Flowers and the Lacy & Lovely Stampin’ Up! stamp sets to create this card.  Here are the colors from the challenge:

And here is my Best of Flowers card:

Best of Flowers

I started by adhering the Calypso Coral and Raspberry Ripple layers to the Crumb Cake card base with SNAIL.  Then I stamped the daisy images in Crumb Cake ink on a panel of Crumb Cake card stock.  To create the quilted background, I used my Simply Scored Diagonal Scoring Plate to make score lines every 1″, then I turned the panel 90 degrees and scored it again at every inch.

Best of Flowers 1

I stamped the daisy images from the Best of Flowers stamp set in StazOn Jet Black on Watercolor paper and I used my Aqua Painter and a drop of ink from my Calypso Coral and Raspberry Ripple ink refills to paint the images.  This is a really easy and fun way to color your stamped image.  Once the daisies were dry (I used my Heat Tool to speed up the process a bit), I punched them out with the 1-1/4″ Scallop Circle Punch, which matches the flower images perfectly.

Best of Flowers 2

Next, I stamped the sentiment from the Lacy & Lovely stamp set in Raspberry Ripple ink on Crumb Cake card stock.  I stamped the same daisy image that I’d stamped on the Crumb Cake panel again over the sentiment, but I did stamp it off once on scrap paper so that it was a bit lighter.  I cut the sentiment out with the Ovals Collection Framelits dies and I cut a second oval from Raspberry Ripple card stock.  I adhered the two ovals together, then to the card front with SNAIL.  I adhered the daisies around the sentiment with Stampin’ Dimensionals, then added a strip of pearls under the sentiment and a single pearl to each intersection of the score lines.

Best of Flowers 3

To finish the card, I adhered a panel of Raspberry Ripple card stock and a panel of Very Vanilla card stock to the inside of the card.

One quick note on the Best Of stamp sets:  The images in these stamp sets not necessarily the same size at the previously released stamps.  The flower images in this set are about half the size of the original images.  If you have any questions, please let me know.

  3. Stunningly beautiful! It caught my breath. I love all the details and the colours, wow would never have thought Calypso Coral and Raspberry Ripple together!

  4. Love your Best of Flowers sample!! Thanks for the comment about the size. I was debating about getting that set, but didn’t know what I would do with duplicate stamps. Different sizes would be interesting. Thanks, also, for sharing such detailed directions.
