Quint-Essential Flower in Blue

Sale-a-bration ends tomorrow!!  I used the Quint-Essential Flower stamp and the Vine Street Embossing Folder from Stampin’ Up! to create my card today.  The stamp and the embossing folder are both items that you can earn for free from Stampin’ Up! with a $50 product purchase, so make sure that you get your last Sale-a-bration orders in before all of the fantastic free items are gone!

This card was inspired by the Mojo Monday 285 Sketch Challenge.  Here is the sketch:

And here is my card:

Quint-Essential Flower

I started by embossing the background panel with the Vine Street Embossing Folder, then adhering the 3/4″ strips of Designer Series Paper to it with SNAIL.  I also cut a 1″ square punch in half diagonally and adhered the two pieces with SNAIL to the left side of the panel.

I ran Sticky Strip across the center of the card and I scrunched the Baja Breeze 1/2″ Seam Binding Ribbon across the Sticky Strip.

Quint-Essential Flower 2

I stamped the Quint-Essential Flower image 4 times (Midnight Muse, Marina Mist, Baja Breeze & Midnight Muse), then punched each flower with different punch (2-3/8″ Scallop Circle, 1-3/4 Scallop Circle, 1″ Circle & 3/4″ Circle).  I curled the edges of the Marina Mist 1-3/4″ Scallop Punch and adhered it with SNAIL to the Midnight Muse punch.  I adhered the 1″ Circle Punch with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the 3/4″ Circle Punch with SNAIL.  Then I added a Subtles Designer Button with a Glue Dot and a rhinestone with a Glue Dot.  I adhered the entire layered flower to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Quint-Essential Flower 3

To finish the card, I added a panel of Whisper White to the inside of the card after I stamped the flower image in Midnight Muse on the corner.

And I’m not sure if you’ve noticed the Stampin’ Up! Grid Paper in the background of most of my recent card making pictures.  I LOVE this paper.  I can draw out/design 4 different cards on one sheet and get a good sense for what the final result will be without cutting up a bunch of card stock.  For this card, I was able to determine the sizes of the Designer Paper strips without having to cut and trim everything several times.  It also helped me to get the strips lined up and adhered straight since I could place the background panel on the Grid Paper and line up the strips with the marks that I’d made (you can see that in the picture above with the Sticky Strip).

Stampin' Up Grid Paper

The Grid Paper is on page 178 in the Annual Catalog and you get 100 sheets for $9.95 (Item 102787), so that gives me space to create 400 card layouts without wasting a lot of card stock that I’ve cut to the wrong size.  Each sheet is 11″ x 17″ so it’s a big work surface that you can draw on, sponge on, stamp on and make a mess on.  I don’t know how I made cards so long without it!
