Stampin’ Up! Color Refresh

Stampin’ Up! announced they they will be doing a color refresh for the 2013-14 Annual Catalog.  Here are the changes to the core colors:

Beginning today, April 4, 2013, all retiring/discontinued color products (i.e. ink, paper, ribbon, accessories, etc.) will be available only while supplies last.  This means that some products will not be available through the retired list period (which begins April 24 and runs through June 3, 2013).   Get your favorites this weekend while shipping is FREE (April 6 – 8)!

I pulled out a few items from the Stampin’ Up! Spring Catalog that I haven’t used for awhile for this card.  But the sentiment is from the Sneak Peek Spring Surprise Bundle with the A Round Array stamp set and 7/8″ Scallop Circle Punch.  And don’t forget that you can purchase the Spring Surprise Bundle with stamp set and punch and save 15% until May 30 (Item 133899).

I started by embossing a panel of Pool Party Core’dinations Card Stock with the Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder and sanding the raised areas and I adhered it to a Real Red panel.  Then I stamped the A Round Array sentiment in Real Red ink on Very Vanilla card stock, punched it out with the 7/8″ Scallop Circle Punch, adhered it to a Red Glimmer Paper 7/8″ Scallop Circle Punch with SNAIL, then to a Designer Builder Brad with Glue Dots.  I used my Paper-Piercing Tool to pierce the layered panels and I placed the Designer Builder Brad through it, then adhered the panels to the card base with SNAIL.

Next, I sponged a Tea Lace Paper Doily with So Saffron ink, folded it in half, then folded it in half again.  I cut one of the fold lines to the center, then started accordion folding the doily.  Once I had the doily completely accordion folded, I pulled the area that I’d cut apart and squeezed it together to make the doily into a half circle and I taped it with Scotch Tape to the back of a strip of So Saffron card stock.  I layered a strip of the Tea for Two DSP over the front of the So Saffron card stock strip and I adhered it with SNAIL.  Then I adhered the layered strip and doily to the card front using doubled up Stampin’ Dimensionals under the card stock.

Next, I punched a 2-3/8″ Scallop Circle Punch from the Real Red Core’dinations Card Stock, embossed it with the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, sanded the raised areas and edges and adhered it to the So Saffron strip with SNAIL.  Then I punched a 1-3/4″ Circle from the Tea for Two DSP and I adhered that to the scallop circle with SNAIL.  I punched an Elegant Butterfly from the Pool Party Core’dinations Card Stock, sanded the edges and adhered it the the circle with SNAIL.  Then punched a bitty butterfly from Red Glimmer Paper and adhered it to the Elegant Butterfly Punch with SNAIL.

To create the red rhinestones, I colored 6 Basic Rhinestones and 1 Large Rhinestone with a red Sharpie Marker, then I adhered them to the card front.

I added a 5/8″ strip of Tea for Two DSP to the Very Vanilla panel inside the card to finish it.

Watercolor Wonder Crayons and Watercolor Pencils Are Discontinued

Due to unforeseen problems with Stampin’ Up’s supplier for Watercolor Wonder Crayons and Watercolor Pencils, they have decided to discontinue these two products.

Watercolor Pencils (item 101879) and Watercolor Wonder Crayons Brights Collection (item 119804), which have been on backorder for about a week, will no longer be available, effective immediately.  If your order has not been shipped due to its status in backorder, they will not be able to fill it.  Stampin’ Up! will soon begin processing refunds for these items. Keep in mind that it may take a few days to see the reimbursement in your account.

Now for the good news!  Stampin’ Up! still has the remaining collections of the Watercolor Wonder Crayons available to order. The Subtles (item 119802), Neutrals (item 119805), and Regals (item 119803) Collections are only available while supplies last. Get ’em before they’re gone!
