Today I’m sharing another little sneak peek with you from the new Stampin’ Up! catalog that goes live at noon MST tomorrow!! I used a new stamp set called Happy Day and some of the new colors to create my card. I will be posting some weekend ordering bonuses early tomorrow morning on my blog, so make sure that you stop by to check them out!
My design was inspired by The Paper Players #147 Sketch Challenge, I just turned it on it’s side.
I started by stamping the Swallowtail image in Coastal Cabana ink on Costal Cabana card stock. Then I cut it apart to create a mosaic look. I turned the image the long way and made the first cut at 1-1/4″ from top to bottom. Then I turned the pieces back the right way and cut the bottom at 1-1/4″ from the left side and the top 1-1/4″ from the right side. I adhered the mosaic pieces to a panel of Pumpkin Pie card stock with SNAIL, then adhered the layered image to the Crushed Curry card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I stamped the sentiment from the Happy Day stamp set in Pumpkin Pie ink on a Whisper White panel, then I stamped the lower image in Crushed Curry and the upper image in Coastal Cabana ink (using my Stamp-a-ma-jig for placement). I cut the sentiment out with the Ovals Collection Framelits die and adhered it with SNAIL to another oval that I’d cut from Crushed Curry card stock and embossed with the Honeycomb Embossing Folder. I adhered the layered oval sentiment to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
To finish the card front, I tied Pumpkin Pie 1/8″ Taffeta Ribbon through two Vintage Faceted Designer Buttons and adhered them with Glue Dots to the card front. One tip, cut the ribbon to a very long point to make it easier to thread through the button holes. Then tie it and trim the ends as you normally would.
I stamped the partial Swallowtail image in Crushed Curry ink on a Whisper White panel that I adhered inside the card with SNAIL.

So, so pretty done in the Coastal Cabana….my new favorite color! I love how you “dissected” the butterfly to fit the sketch, and your embellishments are sweet. I also like the little bit of stamping on the inside…such a nice touch! Thanks for playing with my sketch this week!
Thank you! And great sketch for inspiration this week!
Love this! I love how you stamped the image onto all of the panels, and your color combo is so fresh and pretty. Thanks for joining us at the Paper Players this week!
Thank you!
What a clever way to use this stamp!
Thanks so much!
