Teeny Tiny Wishes with the Hexagon Punch

I pulled out the Hexagon Punch and the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set from Stampin’ Up! to create my card share for today.  I used the Epic Day This and That DSP for the background and the little hexagons.  Don’t forget to stock up on DSP during Stampin’ Up!’s Buy 3 Get 1 Free promotion.  You’ve only got until Wednesday, July 31 to grab your DSP packs at the sale price.

My card design was inspired by the Hand Stamped Sentiments Sketch Challenge #164.

Teeny Tiny Wishes Hexagon Punch

I started by embossing a panel of the Epic Day This and That DSP with the Honeycomb Embossing Folder, then I adhered that panel to a panel of Crumb Cake Core’dintaions Card Stock with SNAIL that I’d sanded.  Then I used the Hexagon Punch to punch out 7 hexagons from the Epic Day This and That DSP and I adhered those punches with SNAIL to 7 hexagons that I’d cut from Crumb Cake Core’dinations Card Stock and sanded.  Next, I arranged the hexagons on the card front and adhered them with SNAIL.  I trimmed the excess off with my Paper Snips.

Teeny Tiny Wishes

I tied a knot using the Natural 7/16″ Trim and adhered it around the panel with SNAIL.  Then I stamped the sentiment from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set in Crumb Cake ink on a Whisper White panel.  I stamped the border image from the Label Something stamp set in Pool Party ink, then punched the sentiment out with the Modern Label Punch.  I trimmed the end and sponged the edges with Crumb Cake ink, then adhered the sentiment with SNAIL to a Crumb Cake Core’dinations Card Stock Modern Label Punch that I’d sanded.  Then I adhered the sentiment to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the decorated panel to a Pool Party card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

This and That DSP

I finished the inside of the card by adhering a strip of Epic Day This and That DSP to a Whisper White panel.

  1. I am loving your layered hexagons! So are you hand cutting the bigger layer and if so how do you get them so geometrically perfect? 🙂 Beautiful card! Thanks! Julene

    • Thanks for leaving me a comment Julene! I dropped you an email with some information on the hexagon layers, I use a set of dies that I discovered that layer beautifully with Stampin’ Up!’s Hexagon Punch. 🙂

  2. Amy I am so in awe about your creations, website, and the fact you show the inside of your cards!!!
I always look forward when I receive a daily email from you.
Thank you so much for sharing!!!
Take care and have a marvelous day!

    • Thanks for stopping by to leave a comment Darlene! You are correct, the punch is only one size. I found a hexagon die set made by Stamps of Life that layers beautifully with the Stampin’ Up! Hexagon Punch. I’ll email you the information. 🙂

  3. Love how you used the hexagon embossing folder as the the background. Really sets the other hexagons off. Fabulous card! The colors are very striking. Thanks for playing with us this week at HSS.
