I made a quick, bright birthday card with the Sketched Birthday stamp set from Stampin’ Up! to share with you today.  My card design was inspired by two challenges:  CAS(E) This Sketch #38 and CAS-ual Fridays Count Me In Challenge.

I started by embossing a panel of Melon Mambo Core’dinations card stock with the Alphabet Press Embossing Folder, sanding the raised areas, adhering it to a panel of Pumpkin Pie card stock then to a Crushed Curry card base with SNAIL.  I adhered a strip of Quatrefancy Specialty DSP to a strip of Pumpkin Pie card stock, then to the card front with SNAIL.

I stamped the balloon images from the Sketched Birthday stamp set in StazOn Jet Black ink on a Whisper White panel and colored them with my Stampin’ Write Markers.  I cut the balloons out with my Paper Snips and adhered them to the card front with little pieces of Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I did stamp the string on the Crushed Curry Balloon a second time and I adhered it below the original balloon so that the string would appear to be long enough.  Then I stamped the sentiment in Stazon Jet Black ink on a Whisper White panel, colored the border with my Stampin’ Write Marker, cut it out with the Bitty Banner Framelits Die and adhered it over the balloon strings (making sure that I covered the seam in the balloon string) with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I finished the card front by tying a multiple loop bow from Island Indigo Baker’s Twine and adhering it with a Glue Dot.

I added a strip of the Quatrefancy Specialty DSP to the Whisper White panel on the inside of the card.
