Button Tree Card

I saw this fantastic card created by Shari Carroll in a magazine that I recently picked up.  I couldn’t wait to give it a try, it was really very simple to create!  I pulled out almost all of my Stampin’ Up! stamp sets with Christmas words, but you could easily create the background even if you only have one or two sets.

Festive Flurry

I started by randomly stamping the different sentiments in Whisper White Craft Ink on a Brushed Gold panel.  I did a quick zap with my Heat Tool once I was finished stamping to make sure that all of the images were dry before I moved on, but you could also just set the panel aside and let it air dry.  Once the panel was dry, I adhered it with SNAIL to a Whisper White card base.

Festive Flurry 1

Then I stamped the snowflake images from the Festive Flurry stamp set on a Whisper White panel in VersaMark ink, sprinkled them with Heat & Stick Powder, heated the powder, then sprinkled the images with Dazzling Diamonds and heat set the glitter.  I cut the snowflakes out with the Festive Flurry Framelits die and adhered them to the card front with SNAIL.  Then I used my Paper Snips to cut two Whisper White panels to create the hills and I applied Dazzling Details to the cut edges.  I let the Dazzling Details dry completely, then adhered the two panels to the card front with SNAIL.

Button Tree

I snipped the tree trunk from Crumb Cake card stock and I adhered it with SNAIL to the card front.  Then I cut a triangle from Whisper White card stock, adhered it to the card front with SNAIL and randomly adhered buttons and pearls to it using Glue Dots to adhere the buttons.  I finished the tree by tying a small bow from Natural Linen Thread and adhering it with a rolled up Glue Dot.

More Merry Messages

I finished the inside of the card by stamping the sentiment from the More Merry Messages stamp set and the snowflake images from the Festive Flurries stamp set in Crumb Cake ink.
