Christmas Collectibles For Mojo Monday and New Pop & Place Holiday Gift Tags!!

Happy World Card Making Day!!

Today, October 5, 2013 is officially World Card Making Day and to celebrate, Stampin’ Up! is running a little contest.  All of the details are below as well as information about a cool new Pop & Place Gift Tag product line from Stampin’ Up!  So make sure that you scroll all the way to the bottom to read all about it…and while you’re looking, check out my Ordering Special too!!  🙂

I used the Christmas Collectibles and Greetings of the Season stamp sets from Stampin’ Up! to create my card today.  My design was inspired by Mojo Monday 313.

Christmas Collectibles 1

I started by cutting a scallop square from Cherry Cobbler Textured Card Stock with the scallop square from the Squares Collection Framelits Dies and I adhered it with SNAIL to a Cherry Cobbler square card base.  Then I cut a square of Old Olive Textured Card Stock and I embossed it with the Festive Flurry Embossing Folder.  I stamped the sentiment from the Greetings of the Season stamp set in VersaMark ink on the Old Olive panel, sprinkled it with Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it.

Christmas Collectibles 2

I cut two pieces of Cherry Cobbler 1″ Stitched Edge Grosgrain Ribbon and I adhered them to the Old Olive panel with SNAIL and I adhered the panel the Cherry Cobbler scallop square with SNAIL.  I stamped the images from the Christmas Collectibles stamp set in VersaMark ink, sprinkled them with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder, heat embossed them, punched them out with the Christmas Ornament Punch and adhered them to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I added a rhinestone to the center of each ornament to complete the card front.

Christmas Collectibles 4

I stamped the sentiment from the More Merry Messages stamp set and the ornament from the Christmas Collectibles stamp set in Cherry Cobbler ink on a Whisper White panel to finish the inside of the card.

Christmas Colletibles 3

Since this card was an unusual size, I made an envelope from Cherry Cobbler card stock using the Envelope Punch Board.  I used the scallop square die from the Squares Collection Framelits Dies to create the same scallop edge on the envelope flap.  I just placed the die over the flap, placed it on the cutting pad and slowly ran the die through the Big Shot until the point that the die became too wide to fit through.  If you do use the die to trim your envelope flaps, just made sure that you slowly turn the handle and do not run the die through any further than about 90% of the panel so the die doesn’t get crushed in the machine (it’s too wide to fit through the Big Shot when it’s turned sideways).
