It’s Friday and Sandi MacIver is back and stamping after her Founder’s Circle Retreat and we’ve both got Christmas/Holiday projects using the Stampin’ Up! Festive Flurry stamp set to share with you today. I put together a little gift bag, a 3×3 card and an ornament to share with you today. After you check out my project, be sure to head over to see what Sandi came up with!!
I’ll start by showing you the gift bag and ornament. I put together a tutorial for a larger version of this ornament a few weeks ago. You can click here to go see it on my Tutorials page. I used the same process only I used the second largest snowflake rather than the largest one for this project.
I stamped two of the second largest snowflakes and one of the smallest snowflakes from the Festive Flurry stamp set in Coastal Cabana ink on Whisper White Paper. I stamped the second smallest snowflake in VersaMark ink on a Whisper White panel, sprinkled it with Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it. I cut all four of the snowflakes out with the matching Festive Flurry Framelits dies and assembled the snowflake according to the instructions in my Tutorial. I added one of the Frosted Finishes Embellishments to the center of the ornament, using a Glue Dot to adhere it.
Since I wanted this to be an ornament, I added some Glue Dots to the center of the snowflake on the back side and I adhered a loop of Silver 1/8″ Ribbon to them. I added a few more Glue Dots and I adhered a 1″ Circle Punch from Coastal Cabana card stock to complete the ornament.
I stamped the smallest snowflake image in Coastal Cabana ink on one of the Mini Muslin Bags. ***Make sure that you place a piece of scrap paper inside the Muslin Bag when you are stamping on it to ensure that your ink doesn’t bleed through to the opposite side. The bags are really easy to stamp on so definitely give it a try!
I filled the bag up with one of my favorite treats…Dark Chocolate Nuggets with Almonds. 🙂 Then I tied the bag shut and tied the ornament onto the bag.
I made a matching 3×3 card by adhering a panel of Winter Frost Specialty DSP to a Coastal Cabana card base with SNAIL. Then I adhered a circle of Coastal Cabana card stock with SNAIL that I’d cut with a Circles Collection Framelits Die. I stamped the two snowflakes just like the ones for the ornament and adhered them to the card front with SNAIL. Then I added one of the Frosted Finishes Embellishments to the center with a Glue Dot to adhere it.
I added a Whisper White panel that I’d stamped with the snowflake image in Coastal Cabana ink inside the card and I made a little envelope with the Envelope Punch Board from Coastal Cabana Card Stock. I stamped the front of the envelope with the snowflake too.
So I’ve got my first little holiday gift all ready to go…that is if I don’t eat all of the nuggets before I give it away!! Hee hee!!
Now head over to see the fantastic project that Sandi has whipped up for you. Click here to go right over to her blog.
