So Very Grateful Chalkboard Technique Thank You – Stampin’ Up!

As most of you read this, I’ll be on the way to the Stampin’ Up! Leadership Meeting in Houston, TX.  I’ll be there through Sunday and I’m planning to post on my blog daily through the weekend and hopefully share some pictures of some fabulous cards made by others too!  I am going to try my best to post early in the morning for you, but that might change a little, depending on what my schedule for the day looks like.

For my card share today, I used the So Very Grateful and Petite Petals stamp sets.  The Paper Players #177 challenge was to was to create a card using the chalkboard technique and I thought these sets would be perfect for it.

So Very Grateful - Stamp With Amy K

I started by stamping the flower images from the Petite Petals stamp set (wood mount and clear mount) in VersaMark Ink on a Basic Black panel.  I only stamped half the total number that I wanted, then sprinkled them with Pool Party Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed them.  I repeated the process for the other half of the flowers with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder, then sponged the edges and over the flower images with Whisper White Craft Stampin’ Ink.  Then I adhered the panel to a Pool Party card base.

I stamped a second Basic Black panel with the image from the So Very Grateful stamp set (wood mount and clear mount) in VersaMark ink and I heat embossed it with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  Then I sponged Whisper White Craft Stampin’ Ink along the edges and over the flower images and I used my Envelope Punch Board to round the corners.  I layered the stamped panel over a Pool Party panel that I’d also punched with the Envelope Punch Board.

So Very Grateful 2 - Stamp With Amy K

I cut a small piece of the Natural 5/8″ Chevron Ribbon and a small piece of the Pool Party 1/2″ Seam Binding Ribbon and I adhered them to the corner of the panel with SNAIL.  Then I adhered the layered panel to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

So Very Grateful 3 - Stamp With Amy K

Next, I stamped the sentiment from the So Very Grateful stamp set in VersaMark Ink on a Basic Black panel and heat embossed it with Pool Party Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  I punched it out with the Large Oval Punch and sponged the edges with Whisper White Craft Stampin’ Ink, then attached it to a Scallop Oval Punch from Pool Party card stock.  I adhered the layered sentiment to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals, then finished the card by adding some Pearl Basic Jewels to the centers of the flowers and under the sentiment.

Petite Petals - Stamp With Amy K

I finished the inside of the card by stamping the images from the Petite Petals stamp set in Pool Party ink on a Whisper White panel.

You can find a complete list of supplies, including card stock cuts, at the very bottom of this post.

  1. What a cool card, Amy! You have not one, but three chalkboard layers! Ingenious! Love how the black looks against pale blue, also. Thanks for playing along with us this week at The Paper Players!
