Happy Watercolor Thank You – Stampin’ Up!

Wow, I wanted to say a big thank you to everyone for your comments and messages about my post yesterday.  I appreciated hearing personal stories from so many of you about your own experiences with autism.  And I felt so honored that Stampin’ Up! posted my card and stamp on their homepage yesterday too.  I’ve got the best customers and blog followers!!!  Thank you!!!  🙂

Alright, now onto my card…I used the Happy Watercolor stamp set from Stampin’ Up! along with a little of the Watercolor Wonder DSP to create my card to share with you today.  My card design was inspired by Retrosketches #108 and the colors were inspired by Dynamic Duos #96.

I started by adhering a panel of Watercolor Wonder DSP to an Island Indigo card stock panel with SNAIL, then to a Gumball Green card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Next, I adhered two strips of Watercolor Wonder DSP to the card front with SNAIL.

I stamped the flower image from the Happy Watercolor stamp set (wood mount and clear mount) in StazOn Jet Black Ink on a Whisper White panel.  I used my Aqua Painter and Island Indigo and Gumball Green ink to watercolor the image.  Then I punched the bottom of the panel with the Scallop Trim Border Punch and adhered it with SNAIL to the card front.

It’s difficult to see in the pictures, but I added a little Dazzling Details to the center of each flower of the stamped image.  I also added a Rhinestone Basic Jewel to the card front for a little more glitter.

Happy Watercolor 2 - Stamp With Amy K

I stamped the sentiment from the Happy Watercolor stamp set in VersaMark Ink on an Island Indigo card stock strip, sprinkled it with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it.  Then I punched each end with the Hexagon Punch to create the banner look.  I scored each end twice, 1/8″ apart, then Z folded the score lines.  I adhered the sentiment to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals under the center and SNAIL under the ends.

I adhered a strip of the leftover Watercolor Wonder DSP to a strip of Gumball Green card stock, then to a Whisper White panel to complete the inside of the card.

  1. Wow Amy, I would have never thought to layer the Watercolor DSP on itself, it looks just as if it was meant to be there (I hope that makes sense 🙂 I can’t wait to make this card – Thanks for the great idea!
