Petite Petals All In A Row & A Little Blog Candy!! – Stampin’ Up!

When I saw the CAS(E) this Sketch #72, I had a ton of different ideas fly through my head.  But I finally settled on using the Petite Petals stamp and matching punch from Stampin’ Up! to make a card with lots of little flowers all in rows.  The colors for my card were inspired by The Paper Players #191.

I started by stamping the flower images from the Petite Petals stamp set (wood mount and clear mount) in Calypso Coral and Coastal Cabana inks.  Then I punched them out with the matching Petite Petals Punch.

You can purchase the Petite Petals stamp set and Petite Petals Punch in a bundle and save 15% (wood mount and clear mount).

Petite Petals 1 - Stamp With Amy K

I punched out nine squares from Always Artichoke card stock with the 1″ Square Punch and adhered them with SNAIL to 1-1/8″ squares from Coastal Cabana and Calypso Coral card stock that I’d cut with my Stampin’ Trimmer.

Then I adhered the layered squares with SNAIL to a Whisper White panel.  I didn’t use any special technique to line them up, just started with the two squares in the upper right and left corners and filled in the rows from there.

Happy Day - Stamp With Amy K

I stamped the sentiment from the Happy Day stamp set (wood mount and clear mount) in Calypso coral ink on the Whisper White panel, using my Stamp-a-ma-jig to help with placement.  I adhered the stamped panel to a panel of Coastal Cabana card stock with SNAIL, then to the Calypso Coral card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Petite Petals 2 - Stamp With Amy K

I adhered the little flower punches to the card front with Stampin Dimensionals then added a Rhinestone Basic Jewel to the center of each of the Calypso Coral flowers and a Calypso Coral Candy Dot from the Subtles Candy Dots pack to the center of the Coastal Cabana flower.  I also flipped the Coastal Cabana flower the opposite direction to make it stand out a little more.

Petite Petals 3 - Stamp With Amy K

I stamped the flower images from the Petite Petals stamp set on a Whisper White panel in Coastal Cabana and Calypso Coral inks, then adhered the panel to a Coastal Cabana card stock panel to complete the inside of the card.

Blog Candy April - Stamp With Amy K

With the retirement list being posted on Monday, I thought it would be fun to talk about which stamp sets we’ll miss the most from the big catalog if they retire.  The stamp set that I think that I would miss the most would be Wetlands, I love that you can make great masculine and feminine cards with it…and those little beach birds are one of my favorite images ever!!

So, to be entered to win the blog candy package above, simply leave me a comment on this blog post by Saturday, April 19 telling me which stamp set that you will miss the most from the Stampin’ Up! 2013-14 Annual Catalog if it retires.  I’ll choose a random comment from all of the comments left and post the winner in my Sunday morning blog post.  Please note, anyone can leave me a comment but I’m only able to ship the blog candy items to addresses within the United States.  Thanks for your understanding.

  1. I would hate to see the Notable Notions Stamp Set retire I especially like the button stamps in this set

  2. WOW-to only pick one is hard! I love the Open Seas set, Lovely as a Tree, Gorgeous Grunge–lots I would hate to have to live without! Thanks for the chance at some candy!!!! Can’t wait to see the new catalog 🙂

  3. Lovely as a tree would be a tremendous loss. So many uses for it and it can work for just about any occasion you would have. It’s a true classic in my book, but I’m sure they won’t be dropping that one, will they????

  4. It’s really difficult to choose because so many retire before I can get them and then they show up on ebay at 4x the price! (I wish I could find Branch Out and Classic Pickup Trucks for a fair price.)

I think I would miss the Secret Garden bundle and Lovely as a Tree as they are so versatile and I find myself using them again and again.

  5. Meant to tell you – this is a really cute card! (I realize by posting this I have just placed myself in the running twice so please don’t include me twice when your random selection process occurs!)

  6. There are many that come to mind, but I think I would miss Gorgeous Grunge the most. It is just such a versatile stamp set.

  7. The two I would most hate to see retire would be Lovely as a Tree and Serene Silhouettes. They are both so versatile.

  8. Very hard to choose, I would be devastated without Papillion Potpourri, think almost every card I make ends up with a butterfly on it. Also love By the Tide and Open Sea though. Nautical cards are so fun to make & easy to do masculine or feminine. Of course gotta have Gorgeous Grunge as well. So fun to use that one! Thanks for the chance at some great blog candy!

  9. Cute card again, amy! Since I have only been stamping a short while, it is hard to answer that question, however I do think Lovey As a Tree is a timeless set. It seems very versatile, especially all year long for men or women. Thanks for the chance to win some blog candy!

  10. I think I would agree that Wetlands would be a favorite. I think it is one of the most usable and unique Stampin’ Up sets.

  11. Great card, Amy! Tough color combination to pull off but you handled it beautifully. I would miss Thoughts and Prayers. It is such a great set for sympathy cards, or any elegant card. The tree image is great for masculine cards too!

  12. The stamps I would miss the most would be Gorgeous Grunge. For the last year I think I have used that the most. By the way, you sure did a great job on the placement of all the squares on your card today! Perfect!

  13. Teeny Tiny Wishes would be devastating to lose. I use it ALL THE TIME for those cards and gifts that require small greetings. It has been out there for a couple of years now and I just hope it will not be discontinued. This set covers so many holidays and life events it would be hard not to have it available. Thanks Amy for so many great ideas and beautiful projects!

  14. I love your twist on your card today, made me chuckle with the rebellious pop turn!

Hmmm, I would miss Papillion Potpourri, Gorgeous Grunge, and Petite Pairs…. love all the sets, so hard to pick. I think it would have to Papillion Potpourri, I love to punch them out and dress up my cards with the itty bitty punch flower and some bling. So I’d have to say I’d miss that set most.

Thanks for the chance to win some blog candy Amy 🙂 You rock!

  15. I think the two I would miss the most are the World Map and Lovely as a Tree. I got Lovely as a Tree many years ago (perhaps this is the oldest set in the catalog?) in wood and have been considering getting it in clear because I always worry that I will lose one of the stamps somehow

  16. I must say the set I would miss the most would be ‘teeny tiny wishes’, it is my go to for any card that I make! The Open Sea would come in second.

  17. There are so many stamp sets in this catalog that I just love. However, I think I would miss Thoughts and Prayers the most as it is so versitile with both sentiments and gorgeous stamps! Thank you for offering blog candy. It is fun to read the comments and see what everyone loves best.

  18. I would probably miss Petite Pairs the most – it’s so versatile! Great card today – you worked in Always Artichoke so well. I would’ve had a hard time with it. Thanks for the chance to win!

  19. Hi Amy,

First I’d like to wish you and your family a happy Easter. Secondly I’d like to say I look forward to your daily card inspirations and admire your commitment to posting so steadfastly. Lastly I’d like to comment on which set I hope wasn’t retiring, namely Papaya Collage. I think the elements in that collection lend themselves to such creativity. I have mixed them with other stamps for different occasions. Love it!

    Best regards, Diane

  20. Well, I don’t want any of my stamp sets retiring, truth be told… but I think I would really miss Blooming with Kindness. I love that flower so much! I find that I keep making cards with it (sometimes I have to stop myself… lol). It is just so elegant!

  21. I sure hope Hello Doily stays around. I love that stamp! Blooming With Kindness is my favorite flower stamp – so realistic! Gorgeous Grunge sure surprised me – I use it all the time! Thoughts and Prayers is a staple for making sympathy cards. So glad I have them all. Stamping Up! does have the bestest stamps, I think. Sure they will come out with some more favorites in the new catalog.

  22. Love your card !! I will miss Papillion Potpourri and matching punch ~ use them a lot and are always a winner at Stamp Club.

  23. Hi Amy, I would hate to lose Lovely as a Tree (I think every new customer or demo needs this set), Wetlands, By the Tide. I couldn’t just settle for one and I love Teeny Tiny Wishes it is my go to sentiment. Love you blog and all the cards you make. Happy Easter!

  24. I really like this card! This is one of my new favorite stamp sets! I’m a sucker for the garden themed sets. I think I would miss Wonderfall and Gently Falling. Thanks for the chance to win some blog candy!

  25. Oh, there are so many stamp sets that I don’t want to see retire (By The Seashore, By The Tide, The Open Sea, Secret Garden, Lovely As A Tree, to name a few). However, if I have to choose just one it would be Teeny Tiny Wishes. It has so many sentiments for so many occasions.
