Traveler With a Post Card & New Weekly Deals from Stampin’ Up!

I pulled out the Traveler and Post Card stamp sets (okay and a few others too!!) to create a card for the Try Stampin’ on Tuesday 170 sketch challenge.  Be sure to stop by the Try Stampin’ on Tuesday blog to see what the other design team members have created too!

Traveler - Stamp With Amy K

I started by stamping the image from the Post Card stamp set in Sahara Sand ink on a Very Vanilla panel.  Then I inked the script image from the By the Tide stamp set in Sahara Sand ink, stamped it off once on scrap paper, then stamped it on the Very Vanilla panel.  I was trying to give the image a worn look so I sponged the edges and various spots with Sahara Sand ink, then I took my fingernails and rolled and distressed some of the edges and added a little more sponged Sahara Sand ink over the creases.

I cut the edges off a strip of 1-1/4″ Burlap Ribbon and pulled a few strands from each side and adhered the ribbon to the stamped panel with Fast Fuse Adhesive (see a how to video here for using the new Fast Fuse adhesive).  I colored the image from the Postage Due stamp set with my Early Espresso, Pear Pizzazz and Sahara Sand Stampin’ Write Markers and I stamped it on a Very Vanilla panel.  I punched the image out with the Postage Stamp punch, sponged the edges with Sahara Sand ink and adhered it to the card front with SNAIL.

Then I colored the piece of the large stamp from the Postage Due stamp set that looks like postmark with my Sahara Sand Stampin’ Write Marker and stamped it over the layered panel.  I adhered the stamped panel to a panel of Sahara Sand with SNAIL, then to an Early Espresso card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Traveler 2 - Stamp With Amy K

I stamped the globe image from the Traveler stamp set in StazOn Jet Black ink on a Very Vanilla panel and I colored the image with my Soft Sky, Pear Pizzazz and Sahara Sand Stampin’ Write Markers.  I rounded the corners of the panel with the Envelope Punch Board, sponged the edges with Sahara Sand ink and distressed them with my fingernail.  Then I adhered the image to a Pear Pizzazz card stock panel that I’d crumpled up, flattened and sponged with Sahara Sand ink.  I adhered the layered panel to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I inked the sentiment from the Another Thank You photopolymer stamp set in Early Espresso ink, stamped it off once on scrap paper, then stamped it on a Very Vanilla panel.  I punched it out with the Small Oval Punch, sponged the edges with Sahara Sand ink, adhered it to a Small Oval Punch from Sahara Sand card stock then to the card front with SNAIL.

Postage Due - Stamp With Amy K

I stamped the images from the Postage Due stamp set on a Very Vanilla panel inside the card in Sahara Sand, Early Espresso and Pear Pizzazz inks.

  1. Very nice vintage card. I appreciate your sharing the link to the challenge site – so many pretty interpretations!

  2. Amy the Enabler stamps again…….lol. Nice card. I love that vintage, masculine look. Thanks for costing me more $$$$$$–hehe

  3. Love Terri’s name “Amy the Enabler” for you 🙂 You’ve definitely given me a LOT of ideas, just like this card. It’s wonderful, shabby chic with great texture and color! This is a set that I once again didn’t order yet, but I’m filled with ideas on cards to make with it via you 🙂 That is how I got Blessed Easter, lol. And I don’t regret it at all. So next on my list is The Traveler! Thanks Amy, I’ll let you know when I finally get caught up on “My Amy Cards” 😉
