Choose Happiness Back to Black Card – Stampin’ Up!

I pulled out the Choose Happiness stamp set from Stampin’ Up! to make this card because I thought that the sentiment would work perfectly in the oval space.  And I added a few flowers, well, because I’m in love with all of the new flower stamps in the catalog!  🙂

Choose Happiness - Stamp With Amy K

My card design was inspired by the Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge 318.

Screen Shot 2014-06-13 at 2.18.11 PM

I started by adhering a panel of Back to Black DSP to a Basic Black card stock panel with SNAIL.  Then I adhered Melon Mambo and Basic Black card stock rectangles to the left side of the panel with SNAIL.

Choose Happiness 2 - Stamp With Amy K

I colored the sentiment from the Choose Happiness stamp set with my Garden Green, Melon Mambo and So Saffron Stampin’ Write Markers, stamped it on a Whisper White panel, cut it out with an Ovals Collection Framelits Die and adhered it to the panel with SNAIL.  Then I colored a piece of the new Whisper White 5/8″ Satin Ribbon with my So Saffron Marker and I adhered it to the card front with SNAIL.  The ribbon colored beautifully with the marker too, I love the new Satin Ribbons!

Beautiful Bunch - Stamp With Amy K

I stamped the stems from the Flower Patch stamp set in Garden Green ink, cut them out with the Flower Fair Framelits Die and adhered them to the card front with a touch of Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  Then I  stamped the flower images from the Beautiful Bunch stamp set in Melon Mambo and So Saffron inks, punched them out with the Petite Petals Punch and adhered them to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Choose Happiness 1 - Stamp With Amy KI tied a bow from the new Melon Mambo 1/4″ Cotton Ribbon (which I also love, by the way!) and adhered it to the panel with a Glue Dot, then colored three Rhinestone Basic Jewels with my Rich Razzleberry and Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blendabilities Markers and adhered them to the flower centers.  I finished the card front by adhering the decorated panel to a Melon Mambo card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Beautiful Bunch 1 - Stamp With Amy K

I stamped the flower images from the Beautiful Bunch stamp set in Melon Mambo ink and the stems from the Flower Patch stamp set in Garden Green ink across the bottom of a Whisper White panel inside the card.

  1. Amy, those flowers are perfectly punched! I never would have thought to color satin ribbon. Genius! Thanks for sharing.

    • Thanks so much Terri! I wanted the ribbon to be So Saffron and I didn’t have any so I tried coloring it and it worked! Love it when stuff like that happens. 🙂

  2. Those flowers just pop with the black! Love that. This is just a happy card that made me smile! Thanks so much for playing along with my sketch challenge this week!

  3. Such a beautiful card you made! I love the selection of the dsp, it just shows off your flowers that are just popping color. I also love to color ribbon because I never have the right color, lol. It is a handy trick that is made easier by SU new satin ribbons. It works so well. Love your card, very nicely detailed 🙂 As well as the great trick with the new ribbon!
