June Paper Pumpkin from Stampin’ Up!…Pinwheel Party!!

I got the June Paper Pumpkin kit from Stampin’ Up! a few days ago but just finally had a few minutes to put everything together to share with you today.  This months kit was pinwheels and it was a box full of them!  The kit contained 3 stamps, an ink spot, 24 precut pinwheels, 24 paper straws, 20 banners, 24 cellophane bags, some Basic Gray Baker’s Twine, 24 silver brads, 24 silver clips and 96 glue dots…there was a lot packed into that little box.  🙂

Here are the projects that I made with them.  The first project was a wreath, I’d seen several of these on Pinterest so I thought that I’d give it a try.

I bought a white foam wreath at a local craft store and I attached the little pinwheels all over it.  I stamped some of the banners and attached them in various places as well.

I think that you can see better in this picture what I did with some of the leftover straws.  I smashed them down flat, then rolled them around a pen to make little curly streamers.  I added a few of those around the wreath too.

I did make a few of the pinwheels according to the directions with the straws and treat bags.  I’ve got a few that will be the centerpiece on my kitchen table for a few weeks.  And I have a few that I made up as treat bags for guests.

This is a little closer view of the treat bag.  I smashed and rolled one of the straws and used glue dots to adhere it to the back of the pinwheel, then used a glue dot to adhere the pinwheel to the bag.  I stamped the banner, rolled the bag and clipped it shut.  Quick, easy and cute!

  1. I just may have to resubscribe to PP. It looks like they have really improved the kits. Your wreath is adorable! Great idea.

  2. Oh my goodness! Thank you for saving me Amy 🙂 I wanted to do something different and you helped me figure it out. LOVE, LOVE the straw accents, you are so clever! I’m psyched now 😉

    • Thanks so much Jill! The wreath idea was posted by a whole bunch of people on Pinterest so I borrowed that…as for the the straw smashing, I thought the straws were really cute and couldn’t see them go to waste. So I went back to something that I did with straws as a kid, smash them and curl them up!! 🙂

  3. That is the best idea EVER!!!! Thank you for your inspiration. The wreath is Beautiful!!! I love the way you used the straws.
