Boys Will Be Boys Birthday for Stamping and Blogging – Stampin’ Up!

I used the Boys Will Be Boys stamp set and a little of the Confetti Celebration DSP from Stampin’ Up! to create my card to share with you today.  My card design was inspired by the Stamping and Blogging SB62 Sketch.  The Stamping and Blogging Design Team has grown to 8 members!!  So be sure to click the links below to see what everyone else has created with this sketch too.

Boys Will Be Boys - Stamp With Amy K

I started by embossing a panel of Tangelo Twist with the Chevron Embossing Folder.  I adhered the embossed panel to a Basic Gray card base with SNAIL.  I adhered a panel of Confetti Celebration DSP to a panel of Basic Gray card stock, then to the card front with SNAIL.

Boys Will Be Boys 2 - Stamp With Amy K

I adhered a smaller panel of Confetti Celebration DSP to a panel of Basic Gray card stock then to the card front with SNAIL.  I punched four banners with the Banner Punch from Confetti Celebration DSP and I slid them under the panel, adhering them with SNAIL.

Boys Will Be Boys 3 - Stamp With Amy K

I stamped the robot image from the Boys Will Be Boys stamp set in StazOn Jet Black Ink on a Whisper White panel and I colored it with my Stampin’ Write Markers (I can’t wait for my Smoky Slate Blendabilities Stampin’ Markers to arrive, this image will be fun to color again!!).  I cut the image out with a Circles Collection Framelits die and adhered it to a Deco Label Framelits die cut from Basic Gray card stock with SNAIL, then to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Boys Will Be Boys 1 - Stamp With Amy K

I cut strips from Tangelo Twist and Crushed Curry card stock, punched the ends with the Hexagon Punch and adhered them to the card front with SNAIL.  I stamped the sentiment from the Boys Will Be Boys stamp set in Basic Gray ink on a Whisper White strip, adhered it to a Basic Gray card stock strip, punched the end with the Hexagon Punch and adhered it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I added two Pistachio Pudding star sequins from the 2013-15 In Color Sequin Assortment, adhering them with just a touch of Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Boys Will Be Boys 4 - Stamp With Amy K

I stamped the image of the blocks from the Boys Will Be Boys stamp set in StazOn Jet Black Ink on a Whisper White panel and colored it with my Stampin’ Write Markers to complete the inside of the card.

  1. Totally adorable Amy. I just ordered the Lego Set…..and can’t wait to try it. You did a great job with this. Love all the colors!!!

  2. OMGosh Amy, I have been looking at this stamp set thinking it would be fun, and off you go creating with it, your card is adorable, I have to case it, LOL…off to order the set, and thanks so much for the great ideas.

  3. So much abut this I love Amy! First though is the cool way you have layered the circle and labels, and the second would be the cool colour scheme. Your choice of DSP and stamp is perfect for a boy card and I have boys, so I’m inspired!

  4. This is a great card, I especially love the lego on the inside of the card, it looks so realistic. Love your new blog design too, really pretty!

  5. I was really hoping you’d showcase this stamp set at some point. I really want to purchase it because my son loves (!) Lego. I’m just trying to figure out how I can make the Lego stamp the focal point of a card. Anyway, I adore your card! Thanks for sharing your talent!!

    • Thanks so much Tricia! I’ll see if I can figure out a card making the Legos the focal point, I have a few ideas floating around my brain but I need to try them out on paper. 🙂

  6. Oh my goodness! Your card rocks! Everyone’s comments really match exactly what I want to say 🙂 I need to add this too my list too. Wonderful card Amy!
