Stampin’ Up! Sketched Birthday for Stamping and Blogging

I used the Sketched Birthday stamp set from Stampin’ Up! to create a quick birthday card for the Stamping and Blogging SB78 Sketch today.

I saw this cool “in and out” embossing technique on Susan Roberts blog (thanks so much Connie T for pinning it!!) and I had to give it a try.  It’s really easy and I love the way that it turned out!

Sketched Birthday - Stamp With Amy K

My card design was inspired by the Stamping and Blogging SB78 Sketch.

And the colors for my card were inspired by Sunday Stamps SSC87.

I started by embossing a panel of Daffodil Delight card stock with the Large Polka Dot Embossing Folder.  Then I flipped the panel over and mis-aligned the dots and I ran it back through again.  This gave me one set of dots that are “in” and one set of dots that are “out”.  I thought that it was pretty cool!  I adhered the embossed panel to a panel of Cherry Cobbler card stock with SNAIL, then to a Tempting Turquoise card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Sketched Birthday 2 - Stamp With Amy K

I stamped the cake image from the Sketched Birthday stamp set in StazOn Jet Black Ink on a Whisper White panel and I colored it with my Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Tempting Turquoise and Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Write Markers.  I punched the cake image out with the Note Tag Punch and adhered it with SNAIL to a Chalk Talk Framelits die cut from Cherry Cobbler card stock.

Then I punched a strip of Tempting Turquoise card stock with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch on one end and the Project Life Corner Punch on the other.  I adhered the layered tag punch to it with SNAIL, then used my 1/8″ Circle Punch to punch a few holes side-by-side in the Cherry Cobbler die cut.  I pulled a piece of Pumpkin Pie 1/4″ Cotton Ribbon through the punched hole and tied it with Cherry Cobbler Baker’s Twine.

Then I stamped the sentiment from the Sketched Birthday stamp set in StazOn Jet Black Ink on a Whisper White card stock panel and I colored it with my Daffodil Delight and Tempting Turquoise Stampin’ Write Markers.  I cut the sentiment out with the matching Bitty Banners Framelits Die and I adhered it to a second Bitty Banners Framelits die cut from Pumpkin Pie card stock, then to the tag with SNAIL.  I adhered the layered tag with Stampin’ Dimensionals to complete the card front.

Remembering Your Birthday - Stamp With Amy K

I stamped the sentiments from the Remembering Your Birthday stamp set in Tempting Turquoise ink on a Whisper White panel inside the card.  I also stamped and colored the cake image again too!

Now that you’ve seen my project, be sure to stop by the other Stamping & Blogging Design Team Member’s blogs to see what they’ve created with this sketch.
