Stampin’ Up! Truly Grateful Acorn Card

I used the Truly Grateful stamp set and a little of the Color Me Autumn DSP from Stampin’ Up! to create my card to share today.  I’m starting to think that I might need an intervention…I can’t seem to stop using this designer paper!!Truly Grateful - Stamp With Amy K

My card design is loosely based on the Mojo Monday 369 sketch.  This was supposed to be a tall and skinny card, but I couldn’t get that to work with my design so I did a standard A2 size instead. 🙂

My card theme was inspired by The Card Concept 22.  I chose to make a clean and layered card.

I started by inking up the woodgrain panel from the Truly Grateful stamp set in Soft Suede ink, stamping it on scrap paper, then on a panel of Naturals White card stock.  I used my stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the images so that they were fairly straight.  I inked up the acorn image in Early Espresso ink, stamped it off once, then stamped it on the lower corner of the panel.

I stamped the sentiment from the Truly Grateful stamp set in Cajun Craze ink over the acorn image, then adhered the stamped panel to a panel of Soft Suede card stock with SNAIL.  I wrapped a strand of Early Espresso 1/2″ Seam Binding Ribbon around the panel and adhered it with SNAIL.  I adhered a strip of the Color Me Autumn DSP to a strip of Soft Suede card stock, then to the stamped panel with SNAIL.

Truly Grateful 3 - Stamp With Amy K

I stamped the round wood image from the Truly Grateful stamp set in Soft Suede ink on a Soft Suede panel three times, then stamped the acorn images in Early Espresso ink over the top.  I punched the images out with the 1-3/8″ Circle Punch and layered them over a Circles Collection Framelits die cuts from Early Espresso card stock with SNAIL.

I adhered the layered acorn images to the panel with SNAIL, then wrapped a strand of Linen Thread around the panel twice and tied a bow.  I adhered the layered panel to a Cajun Craze card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals, then added a Cajun Craze Candy Dot (from the Regals Candy Dots pack) to the card front to finish it.

I adhered a strip of Color Me Autumn DSP to a strip of Cajun Craze card stock with SNAIL, then to a Naturals White panel on the inside of the card.

  1. I’m with you Amy…totally addicted to this dsp! I will have to buy a few extra packages before it retires! Love your card; beautiful! Fall cards are my favorite!

  2. This is such a great autumn card – the acorns look fantastic down the left hand side and the background stamp is just gorgeous!

  3. Nelda had a great idea to use your card as a masculine birthday card! 🙂 I love your idea to put the acorns on the wood circle rounds, they fit perfectly, I wouldn’t have thought of that! Your color choices are fantastic Amy 🙂 And your herringbone wood pattern came out beautifully, that’s a tricky one to line up 😉

  4. Love your card – especially the acorn that you stamped in the bottom right hand corner and the sweet little twine bow! It is these little extra touches that seen to take a card from nice to WOW! The rustic look of your stamped woodgrain panel is the perfect backdrop! Thank you for choosing to join us this week at the Card Concept Challenge 🙂
