Stampin’ Up! Bright & Beautiful Joy Card

I pulled out my sewing machine to make my card to share today…those of you who are seamstresses might want to avert your eyes.  My sewing skills are less than stellar.  🙂  I also used the Bright & Beautiful stamp set and the sentiment from the Wonderful Wreath Framelits Dies.

Bright & Beautiful - Stamp With Amy K

My card design was inspired by the Freshly Made Sketches #160.

I started by adhering a panel of White Vellum to a panel of Crumb Cake card stock.  I used a little SNAIL to adhere the panels together in the center since I knew that the adhesive would be covered by the layers, then embossed the layered panel with the On Point Embossing Folder.

Since vellum often likes to curl a little, I ran the layered panel though my sewing machine to put a stitched edge around it.  The stitching holds the panels together quite nicely…as long as you don’t look too closely at my terrible sewing!  Then I adhered the stitched panel to a Cherry Cobbler card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I sponged the edges of a Cherry Cobbler panel with Whisper White Craft Stampin’ Ink.  Then cut a banner from Crumb Cake card stock with a Banners Framelits Die and sponged stars in Crumb Cake ink with the Stars Decorative Mask over the banner.  I sponged the edges of the banner with Whisper White Craft Stampin’ Ink as well and adhered both pieces to the card front with SNAIL.

I stamped the image from the Bright & Beautiful stamp set in Whisper White Craft Stampin’ Ink, sprinkled it with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder, heat embossed it and cut it out with the matching Stars Framelits Die.  I sponged the edges with Whisper White Craft Stampin’ Ink and adhered it to the card front with SNAIL.

I cut the sentiment from Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper and adhered it with touches of Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  To finish the card front, I punched a star with the punch from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack from Red Glimmer Paper and I adhered it over the sentiment with a Glue Dot.

Bright & Beautiful 4 - Stamp With Amy K

Since I already had the Stars Decorative Mask out and inky, I used it to stencil stars in Crumb Cake ink on a a Whisper White panel inside the card.  I added the sentiment from the Bright & Beautiful stamp set in Cherry Cobbler Ink over the top to finish the card.

  1. Amy, I love this card! I really like your color combo, the use of WW craft ink to sponge edges, the glimmer paper, and even the stitching. I don’t sew at all so I admire anyone who will give it a try. Nicely done!

  2. I really love that you put the vellum on top of the crumb cake and then embossed, it gives it such a different vibe. I’ve never sewn on a card either, so thanks to you, I will now have to add that to my to do list 🙂 Hee Hee, we shall see what happens!! Your WW burnishing of the edges really adds so much to your card. Gorgeous JOY too, my Mom would love this card, lol. Awesome details you add Amy, you make a beautiful card 😉
