I used the Merry Everything stamp set and the new Mini Treat Bags Thinlits Dies set from the Stampin’ Up! 2015 Occasions Catalog to create some gift bags to share with you today.
The colors for the two blue treat bags were inspired by Pals Paper Arts PPA231.
I need lots of little treat holders for the holidays and when I saw the new Mini Treat Bag Thinlits Dies (available Jan 6) in the Occasions Catalog, I knew that I had to get that set right away! The bags are really easy to put together. Just cut the paper with the dies, fold on the score lines and adhere them in 3 places with Sticky Strip and they’re all done!
I used the All Is Calm Specialty DSP for the bags. The die cuts create a finished bag that measures 3-11/16″ x 5-1/4″. The little bags were the perfect size for gift cards, so I folded the tops down and added belly bands to mine to keep the gift cards inside.
The belly bands for the two blue treat bags were created by adhering Pool Party 1/4″ Cotton Ribbon with SNAIL to 1/2″ x 10″ strips of Bermuda Bay card stock then wrapping the bands around the bags and adhering them with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. I punched the bows from Bermuda Bay card stock with the Bow Builder Punch (available Jan 6), adhered them together with Multipurpose Liquid Glue and to the belly band with Glue Dots.
I colored the image from the Merry Everything stamp set with my Soft Sky, Pool Party and Bermuda Bay Stampin’ Write Markers and stamped it on a Whisper White panel. I punched the tag out with the Note Tag Punch and adhered it under the bow and to the band with Glue Dots so that the band will slide off with the tag attached. I cut the sentiment from Bermuda Bay card stock with a die from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits Dies set and I adhered it with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
For the final treat bag, I used Pear Pizzazz card stock for the belly band, bow and sentiment die cut and I used Lost Lagoon 3/8″ Silky Taffeta Ribbon to wrap the belly band. And I colored the tag image with Pear Pizzazz and Lost Lagoon Stampin’ Write Markers.
I told you that I loved that little Bow Builder Punch…it’s so much fun and it’s just the perfect size!! I’ll try not to use it on every project…but I make no guarantees. 🙂

Oh, Amy, you are right, that bow IS the perfect size for these cute treat bags! Receiving a gift card really can be fun when it’s wrapped in pretty paper and has a sweet looking bow too! That wish list is getting longer…..; )
I’m so glad that you like it too Roberta! It’s the perfect size and super easy to put together too. 🙂
I love the projects, but these items aren’t available in the book or on-line…..????
These items will be available in the upcoming 2015 Occasions Catalog. The catalog opens for ordering on January 6!! 🙂
Love it! My next order up will be the bow punch and treat bag thinlits!!!
Thanks Gina. I’m so glad that you liked it!! 🙂
Wow how cute are these! Just adorable!
Thanks Linda! 🙂
So cute Amy. I plan on getting the die and bow market punch and after seeing your projects, it sealed the deal even more.
Thanks Kristi! It’s an awesome little punch!! 🙂
Nice card Amy. I have a question – Is the bow more small or medium size? I think the bow builder punch is going to be a great seller. 🙂
I’m glad that you like the little Bow Builder Punch Amy! The assembled bow measures about 2-1/4″ x 1″. My card from yesterday is a standard A2 size, if that helps at all. 🙂
Oops wrong placement with my previous comment. I was looking at the card from yesterday to gauge the size of the bow and I thought I was commenting on it. Your treat bag is adorable too.
These are just the cutest bags and bows…
Thanks so much Melanie! Glad that you like them. 🙂
Absolutely adorable gift bags, Amy! What a great way to use the challenge colors! I LOVE these. Thanks for playing with the Pals at Pals Paper Arts this week!
