Stampin’ Up! Celebrate Today Birthday Card

I used the Celebrate Today stamp set and matching Balloon Framelits Dies to create a card for one of my nieces who has a birthday coming up soon.

Celebrate Today - Stamp With Amy K

My card design was inspired by Freshly Made Sketches #172.

Screen Shot 2015-02-06 at 3.37.06 PMI started by stamping the celebrate sentiment form the Celebrate Today photopolymer stamp set four times in Coastal Cabana ink on a Whisper White panel.  I stamped the balloon image from the Age Awareness photopolymer stamp set in Strawberry Slush ink on the same panel, then adhered the stamped panel to a panel of Strawberry Slush card stock with SNAIL.

Celebrate Today 2 - Stamp With Amy K

I stamped the balloon image from the Celebrate today stamp set in Crisp Cantaloupe ink on a Whisper White panel, then stamped the star image over it again in Crisp Cantaloupe ink.  I added the birthday sentiment in Strawberry Slush ink, then cut the image out with the Balloon Framelits Die.

Celebrate Today 3 - Stamp With Amy K

I taped a little piece from the Bermuda Bay Sequin Trim to the back of the balloon, then adhered the balloon image to the stamped panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Celebrate Today 1 - Stamp With Amy K

I wrapped a strand of Strawberry Slush Thick Baker’s Twine around the panel, then adhered the layered panel to a Coastal Cabana card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Remembering Your Birthday - Stamp With Amy K

I stamped the sentiments from the Remembering Your Birthday stamp set in Coastal Cabana ink and the banners from the Celebrate Today stamp set in Strawberry Slush ink across the bottom of the panel on the inside of the card.

Another reminder about the 2013-15 In Colors…These colors will be retiring as In Colors at the end of this Annual Catalog in the beginning of June.  Sale-A-Bration is a great time to stock up on the outgoing colors (card stock, ink refills, etc), that way you won’t have to worry about things being out of stock once the retirement list is announced.  🙂

You can find a complete list of supplies, including card stock cuts, at the very bottom of this post.

  1. This is so darned cute – the sequins (and banners on the inside) are great additions! I have the Age Awareness Stamp Set and use that small “HB” balloon to decorate my envelopes.

  2. Great idea to use balloons for the shapes in the sketch. This looks fabulous and I love the colors. Thanks so much for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches.

  3. This is such a “happy” birthday card! Couldn’t resist the pun 🙂 The colors are so bright and fun. I really like the way the “Celebrate” is stamped several times at the bottom. This has been a set that I’ve been on the fence about and I love the way your represented the set…..hmm, there goes another addition to my list… 😉
