Stampin’ Up! Painted Petals Rose Thank You

Happy Valentine’s Day!!

I used the Painted Petals stamp set and the die cut rose card from the Artisan Embellishment Kit in the Stampin’ Up! 2015 Occasions Catalog to create my cards to share today.  Mary Fish posted this card earlier this week and I loved the design, so I used several of the features from her card to create mine.

I liked the card so much that I actually made a set of 5 of these in different colors!  You can see them all below.

The design for my card was loosely based on the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 255.

The roses were inspired by The Card Concept #28.  I’d say that my card is clean and layered.

I started by embossing a strip of either Very Vanilla or Sahara Sand card stock (depending on my card colors) with the Spring Flowers Embossing Folder.  I adhered the embossed panel to a card base of the same color with SNAIL.

Then I placed the rose die cut sheet from the Artisan Embellishment Kit on either a Very Vanilla or Sahara Sand card stock panel and I sponged my color of choice over it with a Sponge Dauber.  This was actually a really quick process and the die cut held up perfectly for all of the cards!  I’ve set it aside as my “stencil” for future cards.  🙂  Once I had the sponging completed, I adhered the panel with SNAIL to a panel card stock that was the same color as the ink (Wisteria Wonder for this card).

I wrapped a strand of 1/2″ Seam Binding Ribbon in the same color as the ink (Early Espresso for this card) around the panel and tied a bow, then adhered the panel to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I stamped the sentiment from the Painted Petals stamp set on a panel of either Very Vanilla or Sahara Sand card stock in the same color of ink that I’d sponged the rose panel with, punched it out with the 1″ Circle Punch and adhered it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I punched a flower with the punch from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack and adhered it to the sentiment circle with a rolled up Glue Dot, then added a Pearl Basic Jewel to the center to finish the card front.

Stampin' Up! - Painted Petals 4 - Stamp With Amy K

I stamped the flower images from the Painted Petals stamp set in the same ink colors that I’d used on the front of the card on a Very Vanilla panel inside the card.

Here are the other three cards that I made that look just like it!  I used Calypso Coral, Night of Navy and Pink Pirouette for this group of cards.

Hello Life - Stamp With Amy K

And one final share since it’s Valentine’s Day…I made a quick thank you card for some gifts that my daughter’s recently got.  I used one of the Note Cards from the Note Cards & Envelopes pack and I adhered a 2-1/2″ x 4″ panel of Real Red card stock to it, then embossed a 2-3/8″ x 3-7/8″ panel of Whisper White card stock with the Happy Heart Embossing Folder and I adhered it over the Real Red panel.

I stamped the heart from the Groovy Love stamp set in Real Red ink, then stamped the sentiment from the Hello Life photopolymer stamp set over it, punched it out with the Sweetheart Punch and adhered it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I loved the way that it turned out…and it took less than 5 minutes to make!  Have a wonderful Valentine’s Day!

  1. These are all beautiful cards! Thanks for showing the piece used as a stencil because I had been wondering if that was a possibility rather than using it out right on a card front. They turned out so soft and delicate. Lovely! I like the Valentine too. Have a great Valentine’s Day!

  2. Wow! Beautiful cards, Amy. Love the color combos and the softness of the cards made with the stencil. Happy Valentine’s Day to you and your family. That card is lovely too.

  3. I love how you used the Artisan kit piece as a stencil. I’ve wondered if it was sturdy enough to do that and now I know :). I also loved your Vday card and I might just have to CASE it!

  4. Thanks for this email. I didn’t buy this because it seemed like it couldn’t use for much. Did the rose card use fall apart when you used them as a stencil? That looks cool. TFS Zelda

  5. Beautiful, beautiful! I probably would have just passed right over that Artisan Embellishment set thinking I would never use it! Thanks for bringing it to life!

  6. Wow! I just love the softness the sponge dauber created (with your help, of course) using your “stencil”, Amy! Great looking layout! My favorite is the brown one, but they are ALL Beautiful~ Very pretty CAS Thank You card too! Happy Valentine’s Day!

  7. love, love, love this card Amy, especially the Wisteria one, (my fav color), I am over the top for that die cut in the Artisan Embellishment Kit – looks like you are too, haha….

  8. Wow! Stunning creations! You’ve done a fabulous job interpreting the inspiration photo and putting it to paper! Love the variations of colors – sure would have a problem choosing just one favorite! Nice touch adding the wee flower to the sentiment circle and finishing off the inside of your card too! Thanks for sharing your talent with us this week at the Card Concept Challenge 🙂

  9. Oh my word Amy, these cards are just gorgeous!! I love the colors that you choose to make the cards. I cannot wait to get some crafting time to try the stenciling, I’m itching to get up there, can I put the kids to bed at 5?? 😉 These would be a beautiful gift set, if I could bear to part with them, lol. Thank you for sharing your beautiful cards with us and especially how to recreate them, I am ever so grateful not to have to guess 🙂
