Stampin’ Up! For Peeps’ Sake, You Crack Me Up

I used the For Peeps’ Sake stamp set from Stampin’ Up! to create a fun card to share with you today.  Sorry if you are seeing this for the second time…apparently I was half asleep while typing yesterday afternoon and I accidentally hit the “publish” button rather than the “save” button a bit before my post was ready to go out…oops!  Apparently I need to have one more glass of tea before I start typing in the future!!  🙂

There is an important update from Stampin’ Up! regarding backorders that I added to my post after I hit the publish button yesterday, so be sure to scroll down and check out that information.  Sorry again for the extra email from me…I’ll try to pay more attention!!  😉

For Peeps' Sake - Stamp With Amy K

My card design was inspired by Retrosketches #153.

Screen Shot 2015-02-19 at 3.05.56 PM

I starting by adhering a panel of Coastal Cabana card stock and a panel from the Best Year Ever DSP pack (Sale-A-Bration item) to a panel of Sahara Sand card stock with SNAIL, then to a Calypso Coral card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

For Peeps' Sake 2 - Stamp With Amy K

I stamped the sentiment from the For Peeps’ Sake stamp set in Soft Suede ink on a strip of Sahara Sand card stock and I adhered the sentiment strip to the card front with SNAIL.

For Peeps' Sake 3 - Stamp With Amy K

I stamped the little chick images from the For Peeps’ Sake stamp set in Crushed Curry ink on a Whisper White panel (I masked them with a Post It Note and stamped each individually so that I could punch them out), then colored the images with my Light Coastal Cabana, Calypso Coral (Sale-A-Bration items, also available in the Annual Catalog) and Wild Wasabi Stampin’ Blendabilities Markers.  I punched the images out with the 1-1/4″ Circle Punch, adhered them with SNAIL to 1-3/8″ Circle Punches from Crushed Curry card stock, then to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

For Peeps' Sake 1 - Stamp With Amy K

I tied a strand of Whisper White Baker’s Twine through a Calypso Coral Button from the Best Year Ever Accessory Pack (Sale-A-Bration item) and adhered it to the card front with a Glue Dot.

Best Year Ever DSP - Stamp With Amy K

I adhered a leftover strip from the Best Year Ever DSP pack to a strip of Calypso Coral card stock, then to a Whisper White panel inside the card.

Use this hostess code when you order and receive a free gift from me!  If your order is over $150, please do not use this code, but you’ll still get the free gift.  The free gift for February is your choice of any item valued up to $8.95 in either the 2014-15 Annual Catalog or the 2015 Occasions Catalog!

Important Update From Stampin’ Up! Regarding Backorders

Stampin’ Up! has reported that we will likely begin to see additional backordered items due to unexpected demand for the new products in the Occasions Catalog and ongoing labor disputes at the ports.  Stampin’ Up! has decided that until they see improvements in the factors causing backorders, beginning Monday, February 23, they will turn off accessories that become unavailable, rather than allowing them to go on backorder.  Please note: because stamps are manufactured locally, stamp sets will be allowed to go on backorder status as needed.

Stampin’ Up! will be providing lists with the items that will be temporarily unavailable and I will do my best to keep you updated with those lists as soon as they are provided.

If you currently have an item on backorder, Stampin’ Up! will fill your order as soon as they have the item in stock. Occasionally the product shipments they receive will not cover all backorders; in these instances, the remaining backorders will have to wait until subsequent shipments are received.

Stampin’ Up! does apologize for the frustration the backorders have caused, they also appreciate your patience as they replenish their inventory.

  1. Amy, your little peeps are so adorable….love the color added to them…beautiful way to use this dp and the sketch! The sentiment is pretty funny too~ Are you cold enough yet? I read the thermometer at -4 this morning!

    • Thanks so much Roberta! Glad that you liked my card (again)!! 😉 We’re freezing this morning !!!! But they called off school because they were afraid that we might get some snow and ice so at least we didn’t have to go stand at the bus stop in the frigid weather this morning. 🙂

  2. Ok, ok, I’ve got to say this….(warning silliness ahead)….For peeps sake, you crack me up!! 😉 I loved both emails, lol! This card is so cool with the baby chicks spotlighted in the Crushed Curry circles on the Coastal Cabana background. 🙂 The colors for your card are perfect, I really like the way the neutral Sahara Sand plays off the brighter colors and ties your card together. You are really making it hard for me to resist this set Amy, love this card 🙂

  3. how cute, I just got this stamp set, now I know what to do with it, LOL…I’m with Jill, I love the colors you chose for this card, it’s so bright and cheery and those little chicks are de bomb!…
