The Happy Stampers Team is doing another Stampin’ Up! blog hop today! This time we are featuring a Spring/Easter project and we’re each sharing our favorite stamping storage solution so be sure to hop around the circle to check out the great projects and storage ideas!
I used the Sheltering Tree and Hello Love stamp sets from Stampin’ Up! for my spring project today.
My card design was inspired by Retrosketches #157.
I started by embossing a panel of Crisp Cantaloupe card stock with the Happy Heart Embossing Folder and adhering the embossed panel to a panel of Soft Suede card stock with SNAIL.
I wrapped a strand of Pistachio Pudding Thick Baker’s Twine around the layered panel, tied a little bow, then adhered the panel to a Pistachio Pudding card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I stamped the images from the Sheltering Tree photopolymer stamp set in Pistachio Pudding, Crisp Cantaloupe, Calypso Coral, Soft Suede and Sahara Sand inks on a Whisper White panel. To get a little more of a two-tone effect to the leaves, I inked up the entire image in Crisp Cantaloupe ink, then colored some random leaves my Calypso Coral Stampin’ Write Marker before stamping it.
I stamped the circle image (it’s the little sun) and sentiment from the Hello Love (Hostess Exclusive stamp set) in Soft Suede and Crisp Cantaloupe inks on a Whisper White card stock panel, then punched the image with the 1″ Circle Punch. I layered the sentiment over a 1″ Circle Punch from Soft Suede card stock, then adhered the sentiment to the card front with SNAIL.
I stamped the grass and flower images from the Sheltering Tree stamp set in Crisp Cantaloupe, Calypso Coral and Pistachio Pudding inks on a Whisper White panel inside the card.
Alright, on to my favorite storage solution! I’ve posted about this before, you can see the original blog post about my paper storage (along with several other storage ideas) here.
I love my paper storage solution, it’s fairly inexpensive and it’s been working great for me! For my 8-1/2″ x 11″ paper, I store the paper by color family in a magazine holder that is turned on its side. I purchased the Like It Magazine Files from The Container Store and I have one for each of my color families, one for the In Colors and one for specialty paper like Vellum, Naturals card stock, Shimmery White, etc.
To keep my card stock together, I purchased 9″ x 12″ Job Ticket Holders (you can find them at any office supply store, I got mine at Office Depot) and I trimmed the ends with the loop off. I added a label that I printed with a label maker for each color. I love that I can store a full pack of 8-1/2″ x 11″ paper plus scraps in each folder!
I also have some inexpensive storage ideas for punches in a post that I wrote when I initially did a little renovation to my work space. You can see that post here. I hope that you enjoyed a little peek in my crafting space! 🙂
And finally, the blog candy…I’ve got a blog candy package featuring a stamp set and embellishments! One lucky winner will receive: a wood mount For Being You stamp set, a pack of Pearl Basic Jewels and a spools of the Best Year Ever Ribbon.
To be entered to win my blog candy package, simply leave me a comment with your favorite retiring In Color (Coastal Cabana, Strawberry Slush, Pistachio Pudding, Crisp Cantaloupe or Baked Brown Sugar) on this post before 7 AM ET on Sunday, March 29 and you’ll be entered to win. I’ll have the random number generator pick a comment on Sunday and I’ll announce the winner on my blog that morning! Please note, anyone is welcome to leave me a comment but I am only able to ship the blog candy items to addresses within the United States. Thanks for your understanding.

Built for Free Using: My Stampin Blog
I am really going to miss Strawberry Slush. Not light pink, and not dark pink. I hope it returns in the future.
I will surely miss Strawberry Slush as I use it so much. Also want to comment on your storage ideas. When the scrapbook store went out of business, I bought her double rack for the cardstock. Easy to see the colors, etc., but the paper keeps sliding out all the time. I know – I have them too full. I do keep my scraps together with the main packet, but I’m wishing I had some shelves so I could utilize your solution. Thanks for all the beautiful card ideas and especially that you give the paper size cuts and everything. It helps this old lady make beautiful cards like yours!! Thanks.
Coastal Cabana all the way followed by baked brown sugar!!!
I will miss coastal cabana. Thanks for the storage ideas … love them.
I will miss Strawberry Slush! That paper always brings a smile to my face.
