I used the Stampin’ Up! Wetlands and A Dozen Thoughts stamp sets to create my card to share today.

My card design was inspired by Retrosketches #170.

And the colors for my card were inspired by Stamp Ink Paper Challenge #3.

I started with an entirely different idea…I had plans to use the new lighthouse image and some sponging…but I couldn’t get things to work out on paper the way that they had in my mind so I went a different direction and pulled out one of my favorite stamp sets and I went to work.  I started this card by stamping the sea grass image from the Wetlands stamp set several times in Smoky Slate ink on a Smoky Slate card base.

Then I stamped the image of the Sandpipers from the Wetlands stamp set twice in StazOn Jet Black ink on a panel of Smoky Slate card stock.  I sponged Bermuda Bay ink under and around the birds, then adhered the stamped panel to a panel of Bermuda Bay card stock with SNAIL.

I stamped the sea grass image from the Wetlands stamp set several times in Real Red ink across a Real Red card stock panel.  I adhered the panel over the Smoky Slate panel on the card front with SNAIL.  I stamped the sentiment from the A Dozen Thoughts stamp set in StazOn Jet Black ink on a panel of White Vellum and I adhered it with two Glue Dots (hidden under the ribbon) to the card front.

I wrapped a strand of Real Red 1/4″ Cotton Ribbon around the Bermuda Bay panel and adhered it with SNAIL, then wrapped a strand of Smoky Slate Thick Baker’s Twine above the ribbon strand and I tied a little bow.  I adhered the layered panel to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals and I added a single Bermuda Bay Candy Dot from the Brights Candy Dots pack next to the sentiment to finish it.

I stamped the sandpiper image twice in Smoky Slate ink on a panel of Whisper White card stock inside the card.
