Stampin’ Up! Vintage Leaves for The Paper Players

I used the Stampin’ Up! Vintage Leaves stamp set to create my card for The Paper Players clean and simple challenge this week.  I saw a very similar card that was created by Heather Telford here and  I loved it so I thought that I’d create something similar with Stampin’ Up! products.

The colors for my card were inspired by The Card Concept 41.

I started by adhering Post-It Notes around the edge of a Whisper White card stock panel.  I used my Grid Paper and I lined the Post -It Notes up 1/4″ from the edges around the panel.

Then I stamped the leaf image from the Vintage Leaves photopolymer stamp set in Early Espresso Ink in the panel.  I used my Blender Pen and Soft Suede ink to color in and blend the leaf image.  I used mostly quick strokes with the Blender Pen to mix the colors and fill in the image.  If you try to swirl the colors together, the paper will start to pill.

I sponged some Soft Suede ink around the edges of the leaf image, then I inked up my splatter image from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set with Soft Suede ink, stamped it off twice on scrap paper, then stamped it around the leaf image.

I repeated the stamping process with the Gorgeous Grunge stamp until I had the look that I wanted.  Then I peeled the Post-It Notes from around the edges.

I adhered the stamped panel to a Thick Whisper White card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Then I stamped the sentiment from the Watercolor Wishes photopolymer stamp set in Early Espresso ink on the lower part of the panel to finish the card front.

I inked the leaf image from the Vintage Leaves stamp set in Early Espresso ink, stamped it on scrap paper, then stamped it on the inside of the card.

  1. Yes, the technique is eye-catching, for sure. You have made a simply beautiful card. I think the white really makes the leaf pop, and the framed effect is super!

  2. Absolutely brilliant Amy! It looks just as if it’s fallen to the ground 🙂 the layout is great for the CAS challenge, the leaf square layer adds the perfect touch and kicks it up a notch. Another CASE card for me!

  3. Clean and simple and in neutral shades… love it! Your masked border is absolutely perfect, too! Very impressive, Amy!
