Stampin’ Up! Pop of Paradise for The Happy Stampers Blog Hop

HappyStampersBlogPostBannerI used the Stampin’ Up! Pop of Paradise stamp set to create my card for the Happy Stampers blog hop.  We’ve got a color challenge this week and this is what I made for it.

Pop of Paradise - Stamp With Amy K

Here are the colors that we’re using this week:

June 2

I started by adhering a panel from the Pop of Pink Specialty DSP to a panel of Basic Black card stock with SNAIL.  I wrapped a strand of the 1/8″ Gold Ribbon around the panel and tied a bow, then adhered the panel to a Melon Mambo card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Pop of Paradise 1 - Stamp With Amy K

I stamped the flamingo image from the Pop of Paradise stamp set in Basic Black Archival ink on a panel of Whisper White card stock.  I adhered the stamped panel to a panel of Basic Black card stock with SNAIL, then to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Pop of Paradise 3 - Stamp With Amy K

I stamped the flamingo image again in Melon Mambo ink on a separate panel of Whisper White card stock, snipped the top part of the bird out and adhered it to the card front over the stamped bird with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  I colored three of the White Perfect Accents with a Black Sharpie Marker and adhered them on the Whisper White panel.

Pop of Paradise 2 - Stamp With Amy K

I stamped the sentiment from the Pop of Paradise stamp set in VersaMark ink on a panel of Whisper White card stock, sprinkled it with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it.  I punched the sentiment out with the 1-3/8″ Circle Punch and adhered it with Stampin’ Dimensionals to the card front.

Pop of Paradise 4 - Stamp With Amy K

I inked the flamingo image from the Pop of Paradise stamp set in Melon Mambo ink, stamped it on scrap paper twice, then stamped it on a panel of Whisper White card stock inside the card.

  1. oh, cool idea to create the black legs on the bird, love it, and the layout of your card is stunning, with all those beautiful layers Amy

  2. What a fun card…love the coloured pearls …great idea ! That dap is sooooo gorgeous !

  3. Very elegant looking, the black and white with the pop of pink 🙂 I like the fussy cutting of the flamingo, gives nice dimension!

Today is last day of school here!! When does school start?!? 😀

  4. So cute Amy, love the paper for the background and the flamingo is the perfect pop of pink for your card. Great design and perfect balance.

  5. Hi Amy… Love this card, especially how you did the flamingo. Did you “fussy cut” the entire bird out and layer it over the black legs???

  6. Hi Amy,Hope you are doing well and getting some rest after the cruise.  I KNOW you must have enjoyed every minute. I LOVE this card…especially the flamingo.  Did you “fussy-cut” all the way around him and glue him down over the black legs.  I didn’t quite understand how you did it.  I may need this stamp set soon!    Pat MCreativity is Gods gift to you, What you do with it is your gift to God

    • Thanks Pat! I did cut around the Melon Mambo stamped image…and I cut off the legs. Then I glued it over the Basic Black stamped image so that the legs lined up in the right spot. Hope that helps! 🙂
