Stampin’ Up! Penned & Painted for the Happy Stampers Blog Hop

HappyStampersBlogPostBannerI used the Stampin’ Up! Penned & Painted stamp set to create my card for the Happy Stampers blog hop.  We’ve got a sketch challenge this week and this is what I created for it.

Penned & Painted - Stamp With Amy K

And here is the sketch that we’re using this week:

July 21 - 2016 (1)

I started by stamping the flower and leaf images from the Penned & Painted photopolymer stamp set in Island Indigo, Soft Sky, So Saffron and Mint Macaron inks down the front of a Thick Whisper White card base.  It’s a little hard to see in the picture, but I sponged Soft Sky ink over the stamped images on the card front.

I adhered a wider panel of Island Indigo card stock with Multipurpose Liquid Glue to the left side of the card base and a narrower panel to the right side of the card base.  Then I adhered panels of Whisper White card stock with Multipurpose Liquid Glue over the Island Indigo panels.

Penned & Painted 3 - Stamp With Amy K

I stamped the sentiment from the Thoughtful Banners photopolymer stamp set in Island Indigo ink on a panel of Whisper White card stock.  I stamped the outline and arrow images from the Thoughtful Banners stamp set in Soft Sky and Mint Macaron inks around the sentiment and then punched it out with the Classic Label Punch.  I adhered the sentiment to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals to finish it.

Penned & Painted 4 - Stamp With Amy K

I stamped the flower images from the Penned & Painted stamp set in Island Indigo, Soft Sky, So Saffron and Mint Macaron inks on a Whisper White panel inside the card.

  1. Amy, this is so soft, so feminine and Absolutely Gorgeous…and I just Love everything about this card! You Rocked the sketch challenge!

  2. Wow Amy, this is beautiful and a perfect one to case for my church cards.

    Thanks for the inspiration.

  3. Love this one – so pretty!! Just curious, why did you use two pieces of Island Indigo instead of one? Love your card insides too! Thanks!

    • Thanks Deb! I actually stamped the flower images on the card base and then added the layers of Island Indigo and Whisper White card stock on top. So I needed two pieces of Island Indigo so that there would be a gap in the middle where the stamping on the bottom layer showed through. 🙂

      • Oh, I never imagined that! So the stamping is actually lower – I’ll have to try that now!

      • It was really simple to do! The hardest part was making sure that that upper layers lined up, but as long as you use a liquid glue that has a little wiggle time you won’t have any problems. Give it a try!! 🙂

  4. What a pretty card Amy! The layout is perfect for a set of notecards, and I love how you created the look of DSP just using stamps. You always finish off the inside of the card perfectly, I need to remember to do that more often on my cards too.
