I’m hearing for many of you that your Stampin’ Up! 2016 Holiday Catalogs are arriving in your mailboxes. Yippee!! I’m so excited for you all to see it! It’s another excellent catalog with so many coordinating dies and punches. 🙂
I used the one of the new stamp and die bundles called Santa’s Sleigh to create a quick holiday card to share with you today.
My card design was inspired by Freshly Made Sketches 250.
I started by embossing a panel of Garden Green card stock with the Pine Bough Embossing Folder (available Sept 1). Then I cut a panel of Fancy Frost Specialty DSP (available Sept 1) and sponged it very lightly with Early Espresso ink.
I adhered the Fancy Frost DSP to a panel of Early Espresso card stock and then to the embossed Garden Green card stock panel with SNAIL. Since I’d cut the DSP and Early Espresso panels larger than needed, I trimmed the excess so that the edges were even with the Garden Green panel. I stamped the sentiment from the Santa’s Sleigh photopolymer stamp set (available Sept 1) in Early Espresso ink on the Garden Green card stock panel and then adhered the layered panel to a panel of Early Espresso card stock with SNAIL and to a Real Red card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I stamped the deer image from the Santa’s Sleigh stamp set in Early Espresso ink on a panel of Crumb Cake card stock and I cut it out with the matching Santa’s Sleigh Thinlits die (available Sept 1 in a bundle with the Santa’s Sleigh stamp set). I stamped the wreath and bow images from the Santa’s Sleigh stamp set in Garden Green and Real Red inks, added a little more color with my Blender Pen and cut them out with the matching Santa’s Sleigh Thinlits Dies.
I snipped the wreath die cut open so that I could slide it around the neck of the deer and I adhered it to the back of the neck with a Glue Dot. I added the die cut bow with a Glue Dot and then adhered the deer with Stampin’ Dimensionals to the card front. I added a Real Red enamel dot from the Brights Enamel Shapes pack to finish the card front.
I stamped the sentiment from the Santa’s Sleigh stamp set in Real Red ink on a Whisper White panel. I inked the deer image again in Early Espresso ink, stamped it on scrap paper twice and then stamped it over the sentiment. I adhered the stamped panel to a panel of Early Espresso card stock and then to the inside of the card.

Oh, how cute! I love the embossing in the corner, and the wreath around the reindeer’s neck is just the festive touch it needs. TFS
Thanks Susan! 🙂
Your card is SO cool Amy! The way you interpreted the sketch makes me see your reindeer up on a roof 🙂 Love the sentiment that is on the roofline. Awesome!
Thanks Jill! Hadn’t thought of the roof, but that’s awesome!! 🙂
Great card, Amy! Love the specialty paper!
Thanks so much Jaimie! 🙂
I love this card – that santa’s sleigh bundle is at the top of my wishlist right now! The sketch you used is so fun, the different angled panels really add a lot of interest.
Thanks Deepa! 🙂
This is just the cutest!!! I keep telling myself that I don’t need more Christmas merchandise, but with all these pre-release teasers, it looks like I’ll be buying more!!! Thanks for all your inspiration.
Thanks so much Pat! You definitely “need” a few more Christmas items. 🙂
Wonderful card for the holidays! The reindeer looks fabulous all decked out! And that embossing folder is great!
Thanks Linda! 🙂
Cute, cute, cute! I love that reindeer. Thanks for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches again this week!
Thanks for stopping by to leave a comment! 🙂
Amy, your reindeer is adorable. Know what I found out in Alaska? All reindeer are females!!! Ok so where do reindeer come from? I never thought to ask!!!! Love your reindeer.
Thanks Beth! I had no idea that all reindeer are female…definitely a good question about where they come from. You’ll have to ask next time you go. 😉
Wonderful card! So pretty with the Fancy Frost paper and the embossing! Wow!
Thanks Jari! 🙂
