Stampin’ Up! Candy Cane Christmas Treat Bag

I used the Stampin’ Up! Candy Cane Christmas and Cookie-Cutter Christmas stamp sets to create a cute little treat bag for a holiday gift.

The colors for my treat bag were inspired by Global Design Project #065.

gdp065The candy canes on my project were inspired by Merry Monday #225.

I started by embossing a Kraft Tag a Bag Gift Bag with the Holly Embossing Folder.  To do that, I scored the bag 5″ from the bottom, placed the bottom section of the bag inside the embossing folder sideways and then I folded the top over the embossing folder.

I placed the bag and folder between two cutting plates on the embossing platform from the Big Shot and I ran it through.  It came out perfect!  Thanks to Patty Bennett for that idea!  🙂  Then I scored a 1-1/2″ x 11″ strip of Real Red card stock at 3″ and again at 7-7/8″ and I wrapped it around the top of the bag to create a belly band.  I adhered the belly band together on the back with Glue Dots and then adhered strips of Real Red DSP from the Brights DSP Stacks to the belly band with SNAIL.

I stamped the sentiment from the Candy Cane Christmas stamp set in Early Espresso ink on a panel of Whisper White card stock.  I punched it out with a 2″ Circle Punch and then inked up and stamped off and then stamped the candy cane and cookie images from the Candy Cane Christmas stamp set in Real Red and Crumb Cake inks over the sentiment.  I cut a circle from Early Espresso card stock with a Layering Circles Framelits Die and adhered it to the sentiment circle with SNAIL and then to the belly band with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the gingerbread images from the Cookie-Cutter Christmas photopolymer stamp set in Early Espresso, Real Red and Crumb Cake inks on a panel of Whisper White card stock.  I punched the images out with the matching Cookie Cutter Builder Punch.  I adhered the bows to the gingerbread people with Glue Dots and then adhered the images to the belly band with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the to:/from: image and the cookie image from the Cookie Cutter Christmas stamp set in Real Red and Crumb Cake inks on a panel of Whisper White card stock.  I punched the image out with the 1-3/8″ Circle Punch and adhered it to a 1-1/2″ Circle Punch from Early Espresso card stock with SNAIL and then to the belly band with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
