I used the Stampin’ Up! Sheltering stamp set to create my card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop today. We’ve got a color challenge this week and this is what I created for it.
Here are the colors that we’re using this week:
The design for my card was inspired by the Fusion Card Challenge sketch this week:
I started by adhering a panel from the Party Animal DSP (limited time Sale-a-bration item) to a Crumb Cake card base with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Then I stamped sun image from the Kinda Eclectic stamp set in Crushed Curry ink on a panel of Whisper White card stock.
I stamped the tree images from the Sheltering Tree photopolymer stamp set in Crumb Cake and Emerald Envy inks on the Whisper White card stock panel. I inked the grass image in Emerald Envy ink, stamped it on scrap paper and them stamped it twice across the panel. I added the flower images from the Sheltering Tree stamp set in Emerald Envy and Crushed Curry inks over the grass images.
I stamped the sentiment from the Sheltering Tree stamp set in Soft Suede ink on the Whisper White card stock panel an then adhered it with Multipurpose Liquid Glue to a panel of Emerald Envy card stock. I wrapped a strand of Emerald Envy Solid Baker’s Twine around the panel, tied a bow and then adhered the layered panel to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I added a single Crushed Curry enamel heart from the Regals Enamel Shapes pack next to the sentiment to finish the card front.
I stamped the tree, grass and flower images from the Sheltering Tree stamp set in Emerald Envy, Crumb Cake and Crushed Curry inks on a panel of Whisper White card stock inside the card.

So pretty, Amy! Great use of the challenge colors! 🙂
Thanks Mary! They were a bit of a challenge to use! 🙂
Love this “bright and sunny” card, creates a beautiful image, especially for us up here in the snow and minus something, haha
Oh no…more snow for you?? Bummer! Stay warm! 🙂
This is so pretty Amy. You always use such pretty colors together.
Gloria
Thanks Gloria! 🙂
Great spring card! A pleasure to look at on this 12 degree morning! I am so over the cold right now!
Oh wow…then I shouldn’t mention that we’re going to be in the 60’s here today and back up to the 70’s by the weekend?? 😉 Hope that you warm up soon! I’ll send all of the pollen flying around Atlanta your way if it would help. 😀
So pretty! I love seeing Sheltering Tree, it never grows old, especially when you add your artistic touches! Super spring card, Amy!
Thanks Jari! 🙂
Lovely, lovely….as a tree. Great design using Sheltering Tree. Love trees!!!!! Not colors I would normally choose, but you did a masterful job with them.
Thanks Julie! 🙂
Love how you offset the art piece. Great job with the colours. I can never get the tree just right but you so did. Fabulous spring scene.
Thanks Shelagh! 🙂
Love your card Amy, I had only party animal dsp on my brain, love the way you used Sheltering Tree.
Thanks Kristi! I started with several of the Party Animal papers and couldn’t make them work for me so I picked one and did a little stamping as the focal point instead. 🙂
This is so spring-y and pretty!! I love how you used the colors with the layout!
Thanks Jaimie! 🙂
