I used the stamp set from the new Stampin’ Up! Soft Sayings Card Kit to create my card to share today.
My card design was inspired by CAS(E) this Sketch #224.
I started by adhering a panel from the Fresh Florals DSP Stack to a Tranquil Tide card base with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Then I wet a panel of watercolor paper with just water and I added a little Flirty Flamingo ink to create the watercolor wash background.
I let the watercolor panel dry completely and then stamped the flower and leaf images from the Soft Sayings stamp set in Berry Burst, Flirty Flamingo and Lemon Lime Twist inks. I used an Aqua Painter and those same inks to add a little color to the images. I created a video showing you this technique a few weeks ago, it’s a different image and different colors but the same technique. If you are interested, you can see it here. Once the panel was dry, I used the fine point of a So Saffron Stampin’ Write Marker to color the flower centers.
I stamped the sentiment from the Soft Sayings stamp set in Tranquil Tide ink on the panel and then adhered it to a panel of Lemon Lime Twist card stock with Fast Fuse Adhesive. I wrapped a strand of Linen Thread around the panel twice and tied a bow, then adhered it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I added a few random silver enamel dots from the Metallic Enamel Shapes pack to finish the card front.
I stamped the flower and leaf images from the Soft Sayings stamp set in Berry Burst, Flirty Flamingo and Lemon Lime Twist inks on a panel of Whisper White card stock inside the card.
You can see a list of supplies, including card stock cuts, used to create this card at the very bottom of this post.

Lovely, clean and neat. Love your color choices, Ahem, except maybe for one. It even works with this card, I hesitate to say. 🙂
Thanks Julie! See…it’s growing on you, that’s two cards that you told me that you liked that color on. 😉
Better watch myself!! In general I dislike that color, but it does have a use in cards as an accent color if you don’t overdo it.
Love this card Amy! I am so glad to see you use the stamp set outside of the kit – I love those stamps but then was wondering how to use them after. I love how you used them colored in on the outside, but then on the inside you used colored inks to add interest but left the line images open. I’ve been wavering back and forth to get the kit, but it might just make it on my order now 🙂
Thanks Deepa, the kit is really pretty! I haven’t put it together yet, but I need to! 🙂
Very very pretty! Love your soft background. And the use of the LLT is perfect! I see Julie is coming over to the Lime side! 🙂
Thanks Mary! She slowly is making her way over. 😉
Not so you’d notice! Just for the occasional accent on a card. Still don’t like the color. Never have, never will.
You’re making me smile…we’re winning you over one little leaf at a time. 😉
Wow, in one way your card is bold and in another it is soft. The colors you chose = bold and then the way you applied the colors, beautiful soft color washing. You really did an outstanding job with the cluster from the sketch 😊 Very pretty!
Thanks Jill! 🙂
Just beautiful with that wash underneath! Love it!
Thanks Jari! 🙂
Very pretty take on the sketch!
Thanks Leigh! 🙂
Love this with the soft blush of color behind the flower!
Thanks Linda! 🙂
what a beautiful card, the flowers and leaves really pop and like the others, I absolutely love this stamp set, the kit is amazing too and it’s so nice to have something to reuse after you have completed the cards
Thanks Sandi! 🙂
Wonderful interpretation of the sketch–the blooms are so pretty!
Thanks for stopping by to leave a comment! 🙂
