Stampin’ Up! Good Tidings for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

I used the Stampin’ Up! Good Tidings stamp sets to create my card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop today.  We’ve got a sketch challenge this week and this is what I created for it.

Here is the sketch that we’re using this week:

I started by stamping the larger holly leaves images from the Good Tidings photopolymer stamp set in Garden Green ink on a panel of Very Vanilla card stock.  I inked the more solid holly branch image in Garden Green ink, stamped it on scrap paper and then stamped it over the first images.  I added the holly berries in Cherry Cobbler ink and the branches in Soft Suede ink with the more solid image stamped off once and the other image full strength.

I adhered the stamped panel to a panel of Cherry Cobbler card stock with SNAIL and then to a Garden Green card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I punched the ends of a panel of Vellum card stock with the Banner Triple Punch and then embossed it with the Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder.  I adhered the embossed panel to the card front with Glue Dots.

I stamped the sentiment from the Good Tidings stamp set in Cherry Cobbler ink on a panel of Very Vanilla card stock, cut it out with a Layering Circles Framelits die and then adhered it with SNAIL to a circle cut with a larger Layering Circles Framelits die from Cherry Cobbler card stock.  I stamped the smaller holly images in Garden Green and Cherry Cobbler inks (using the stamping off technique for the more solid images) on a separate panel of Very Vanilla card stock, snipped them out with my Paper Snips and adhered them with a Glue Dot to the card layered circles.

Since the Foil Snowflake was just a little smaller than I wanted it to be for my card front, I cut up two snowflakes and adhered them to the back of the layered circles with SNAIL.  I cut the first snowflake into quarters and adhered them and then cut two “scallops” from the other snowflake and adhered that piece in the small gap.

It’s a little hard to see in the photos, but I did wrap a strand of Gold Metallic Thread around the banner on the card front, adhering it with Glue Dots under the area where the sentiment circles would be.  Then I adhered the sentiment circles with Stampin’ Dimensionals to the card.  I added three gold enamel dots from the Metallic Enamel Shapes pack across the card front to finish it.

I stamped the sentiment and the smaller holly images from the Good Tidings stamp set in Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green inks on a Very Vanilla card stock panel inside the card.

  1. Amy – such a pretty card! All the elements come together perfectly. How creative of you to cut up the snowflake to fit on this card. It really adds the wow factor to this card.

  2. You did it again! Made a beautiful card with a stamp set I do not have and do not have on my wish list. However, I now think I MUST have this. I love the look of the holly leaves and berries. Thanks for the tip on the foil snowflake also, Amy.

  3. Just gorgeous Amy! I love how detailed the images are, and the two-step stamping really allows for amazing shading effects. It looks like super fancy DSP, but you will never run out cuz you can always stamp more! 🙂
