Stampin’ Up! Cake Soirée Sneak Peek Birthday Card

I used the beautiful Cake Soirée stamp set bundle from the upcoming Stampin’ Up! 2018 Occasions Catalog to create a birthday card to share with you today.

My card design is loosely based on the Fusion Sketch Challenge this week.

I started by embossing a panel of Whisper White card stock with the Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder.  I adhered the embossed panel to a Thick Whisper White card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Then I adhered a piece of the Berry Burst 3/8″ Metallic Edge Ribbon (available Jan 3) across the panel with a little SNAIL hidden under the center of the cake.

I stamped the solid cake image from the Cake Soirée photopolymer stamp set (available Jan 3) in Powder Pink ink on a panel of Whisper White card stock.  I let the image dry completely and then stamped the lined image over it in VersaMark Ink.  I sprinkled the cake with Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it.  Then I took a Blender Pen and added Berry Burst, Old Olive, Daffodil Delight and Power Pink inks to the flower image.  I cut the cake out with the Sweet Cake Framelits Dies (available Jan 3).

I cut a panel of Silver Foil Sheets with three of the Sweet Cake Framelits Dies and then I snipped the tails off the bow die cut.  I adhered the cake plate and bow to the cake die cut with Multipurpose Liquid Glue and then to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I added the post die cut with Multipurpose Liquid Glue under the plate.

I cut a flower from Berry Burst card stock with the Sweet Cake Framelits Die and adhered it with Multipurpose Liquid Glue to the cake plate die cut.  I stamped the sentiment from the Cake Soiree stamp set in Berry Burst ink on Whisper White card stock, punched it out with the 3/4″ Circle Punch and adhered it with a Stampin’ Dimensional and a Glue Dot to finish the card front.

I stamped he sentiment and flowers from the Cake Soiree stamp set in Berry Burst and Powder Pink inks on a Whisper White card stock panel inside the card.

  1. Seriously, you should work for Stampin’ Up! You have the knack for making me want to buy something I didn’t care for in the catalog 🙂 Spectacular card! The placement of the ribbon is something I have never tried but I really like it. The silver die cuts are just beautiful. This would make a great silver wedding anniversary card too.

  2. Your design is lovely … my Mom’s 90th birthday is coming up next year …. I would love to create a similar card to honor her big day!
