Stampin’ Up! Sea of Textures Sneak Peek for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

I used the Stampin’ Up! Sea of Textures stamp set bundle from the upcoming 2018-19 Annual Catalog to create my card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop today.  We’ve got a sketch challenge this week and this is what I made for it.

Here is the sketch that we’re using this week:

My card also works for the Tic Tac Toe Challenge #TTTC043.  I went from top left to bottom right.

I started by adhering a panel from the Tranquil Textures DSP (available June 1) to a panel of Fresh Fig card stock with SNAIL.  Then I stamped sentiment from the Sea of Textures stamp set (available June 1) on a smaller panel from the Tranquil Textures DSP pack with VersaMark ink, sprinkled it with Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder (available June 1…YAY!!) and heat embossed it.  I adhered the stamped panel to the larger DSP panel with SNAIL.

I cut a panel of Crumb Cake card stock with the net die from the Under the Sea Framelits Dies (available June 1).  I cut the die cut in half and adhered the pieces with about a 3/4″ gap between them to the DSP panel with SNAIL.  I cut a circle with one of the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies from Tranquil Textures DSP and then cut two sand dollars with the Under Sea Framelits Dies from that same paper pack.  I stamped the coral images from the Sea of Textures stamp set in Tranquil Tide, Calypso Coral and Crushed Curry inks on the die cut circle and then adhered the circle to the DSP panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the octopus image from the Sea of Textures stamp set in Fresh Fig ink on a panel of Whisper White card stock and then cut it out with the Under Sea Framelits Die.  I adhered the die cut to the DSP circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals and then adhered the two die cut sand dollars and the sand dollar centers (they make star fish!!) to the panel with touches of Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  I adhered the layered panel to a Tranquil Tide card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the coral and net images from the Sea of Textures stamp set in Tranquil Tide, Crumb Cake, Calypso Coral and Crushed Curry inks on a panel of Whisper White card stock to finish the inside of the card.

  1. Yesterday I watched an episode of Tanked and Erika Girardi was having her fish tank updated in her bedroom and a new one in her library. One of the occupants was a baby octopus. So, I think your card must be a sign that I need this stamp set 5/2! Nicely done. I get the feel of the ocean from it.

  2. I wasn’t wild about that set when I saw it but your card might make me change my mind. The DSP fits perfectly with all the elements you’ve added. Can’t wait to see what else you do with it!

  3. You’ve showcased the new product beautifully. Good thing you got the matching thinlits. That’d be some crazy fussy cutting on that octopus. 😉 great card!!

    • Definitely a good thing that there is a die…no way would I even try that one with a scissors! 🙂 Thanks!

  4. Darling card Amy. I have new catty and supply envy that you could get your hands on such wonderful things.

  5. Hi Amy,

    Congratulations on being Guest Designer.

Your card is so fun and simple. Love your color choices. Hope you have a super creative week!
