Stampin’ Up! First Frost for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

I used the Stampin’ Up! First Frost stamp set bundle from the upcoming 2018 Holiday Catalog to create my card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop today.  We’ve got a color challenge this week and this is what I made for it.  I borrowed a lot of inspiration from a project that I saw in the new 2018 Holiday Catalog…I just switched up the colors and ribbon from the catalog sample!

Here are the colors that we’re using today:

My card also works for Inspire.Create.Challenge #024.

I started by stamping the branch image from the First Frost stamp set (available Sept 5) in Shaded Spruce ink three times on a Shaded Spruce card base.  Then I adhered a piece of Calypso Coral 1/4″ Ombre Ribbon to the card front with Glue Dots (hidden under the sentiment panel).

I inked the sentiment, flower and stem images from the First Frost stamp set in Melon Mambo, Calypso Coral and Shaded Spruce inks.  Because this is similar to the DistINKtive stamp sets, my brand new ink pads were putting too much ink on the floral images so I took a Sponge Dauber that had been inked with the color of the image and lightly dabbed it over the image to remove the excess ink before stamping.  They stamped beautifully!  I cut the images out with the coordinating Frosted Bouquet Framelits Dies (available Sept 5).

I adhered the die cut pieces to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals under the sentiment and Glue Dots under the other images and then added three of the Frosted & Clear Epoxy Droplets to finish the card front.

I stamped the stem image from the First Frost stamp set in Shaded Spruce ink and then added a die cut flower stamped in Calypso Coral ink on a Whisper White card stock panel inside the card.
