Stampin’ Up! First Frost Birthday Card for Sunday Stamps

I used the Stampin’ Up! First Frost stamp set bundle to create a fall birthday card for the Sunday Stamps color challenge this week.

Here are the colors for Sunday Stamps SSC191.  Be sure to stop by the Sunday Stamps blog to see what the other design team members created and to play along too!  We had a bit of a debate on our Design Team page about the colors…we couldn’t decide if those were blues or grays.  I mixed blue and gray!  🙂

My card design was loosely inspired by Global Design Project #GDP162.

I started by adhering a panel from the Festive Farmhouse DSP to a panel of Gray Granite card stock and then to a Pool Party card base with SNAIL.  I punched the end of another panel of Festive Farmhouse DSP with the Banner Triple Punch and then adhered it to the card front with SNAIL.

I cut a panel of Gray Granite card stock three times with the branch die from the Frosted Bouquet Framelits Dies and I adhered the branches with Glue Dots to the card front.  Then I adhered a length of Pool Party 3/8″ Shimmer Ribbon over the banner with SNAIL.  I stamped the sentiment from the Special Celebrations stamp set in Basic Gray ink on a panel of So Saffron card stock and then cut it out with the smaller sentiment die from the Frosted Bouquet Framelits Dies.  I adhered the sentiment to another panel of So Saffron card stock cut with the larger sentiment die from Frosted Bouquet Framelits Dies with SNAIL and then to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals

I stamped the flower images from the First Frost stamp set in Pool Party, Crushed Curry and Basic Gray inks on a panel of Whisper White card stock and cut them out with the coordinating dies from the Frosted Bouquet Framelits Dies.  I adhered the die cut flowers to the card front with Glue Dots and then added a few Frosted & Clear Epoxy Droplets around the sentiment to finish the card front.

I stamped the sentiment from the Special Celebrations stamp set in Pool Party ink and the branch image from the First Frost stamp set in Basic Gray ink on a Whisper White card stock panel and then added die cut flowers stamped in Pool Party and Gray Granite inks to finish the inside of the card.

You can see a list of supplies, including card stock cuts, used to create this project at the very bottom of this blog post.

Just in case you didn’t see this yesterday:

    • Thanks Monika! It wasn’t an easy color combo for me either…I just pulled what I thought was closest to the colors and went with it. 🙂

  2. Your card captures all the SSC color challenge colors so beautifully! Love the woodgrain layers as well those of the flowers and sprigs, it all makes for one gorgeous card!
