Stampin’ Sweet Ice Cream Birthday Card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

I used the Stampin’ Up! Sweet Ice Cream stamp set bundle from the upcoming January-June 2021 Mini Catalog to create my project for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop.  We’ve got a color challenge this week and this is what I made for it.  I went a little non-traditional with those colors for ice cream!  😉

Here are the colors that we’re using this week:

I started by adhering a panel of Trimming The Town DSP to the front of a Poppy Parade card base with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Then I stamped the popsicle and stick images from the Sweet Ice Cream photopolymer stamp set (available Jan 5) in Old Olive and Early Espresso inks (stamped off twice for the solid part of the stick and once for the lines on the stick) on a panel of Whisper White card stock.  Then I cut around the image with one of the Stitched Rectangle Dies.

***The Trimming The Town DSP just sold out yesterday.  The good news is that the Brights 6″ x 6″ DSP pack has a very similar polka dot patter that you can substitute for the card front!

I inked and stamped off the small dot image from the Sweet Ice Cream stamp set in Pool Party ink and then stamped it several times over the Whisper White card stock die cut.  I adhered the rectangle to the card front with Stampin’ Seal.  Then I stamped the ice cream cone and ice cream images from the Sweet Ice Cream stamp set in Early Espresso, Misty Moonlight, Poppy Parade and Pool Party inks on Whisper White card stock.  The solid images were stamped off once and the “lined” images were stamped full strength.  I punched the stamped images out with the coordinating Ice Cream Cone Builder Punch (available Jan 5) and adhered them with Glue Dots to the card front.

I cut a panel of Trimming The Town DSP (can substitute Misty Moonlight DSP from the 2020-2022 I(n Color 6″ x 6″ DSP pack) with one of the Stitched Rectangle Dies and then adhered the die cut to the card front with Stampin’ Seal.  Then I stamped the sentiment from the Sweet Ice Cream stamp set in VersaMark ink on a panel of Poppy Parade card stock, sprinkled it with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it.  I cut the sentiment out with one of the Ornate Frames Dies and adhered it with Stampin’ Dimensionals to the card front.  I added a Rhinestone Basic Jewel to finish it.

I stamped the sentiment from the Sweet Ice Cream stamp set in Poppy Parade ink on a panel of Whisper White card stock and then added a strip of the Trimming The Town DSP to finish the inside of the card.

You can see a list of supplies used to create this project, including the card stock cuts, at the very bottom of this blog post.
