Stampin’ Up! Mountain Air Birthday Card For Sunday Stamps

I used the Mountain Air stamp set bundle from Stampin’ Up! to create a masculine birthday card for the Sunday Stamps color challenge this week.  My card was inspired by this fantastic card made by Akiko Sudano.

Here are the colors for Sunday Stamps SSC 247.  Be sure to stop by the challenge blog to play along too!

My card design was inspired by Freshly Made Sketches #466.

I started by adhering a panel of In Good Taste DSP to the front of an Early Espresso card base with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  Then I adhered a panel of Night of Navy DSP from the Neutrals 6″ x 6″ DSP pack to the card front with Stampin’ Seal.

I inked the “solid” mountain image from the Mountain Air photopolymer stamp set in Pool Party ink, stamped it on scrap paper and then stamped it on a panel of Whisper White card stock.  I stamped another panel of Whisper White card stock with the lined mountain image from the Mountain Air stamp set in Night of Navy ink.  I cut the Night of Navy stamped image out with the coordinating Majestic Mountain Dies.  I adhered the die cut mountains over the Pool Party mountains with Stampin’ Seal and then cut both panels with one of the Stitched Rectangle Dies.

I stamped the tree line image from the Mountain Air stamp set in Garden Green and Shaded Spruce inks on panels of Whisper White card stock.  I flipped the tree line image over and inked the back of the image with Mint Macaron ink, stamped it on scrap paper and then stamped it over the Shaded Spruce tree line.  I cut the top of the trees with the coordinating die from the Majestic Mountain Dies.  Then I adhered the die cut tree panels together with Stampin’ Seal.  I placed the die cut images over the first rectangular panel and placed the same Stitched Rectangle Die over the tree layer.  I lifted the trees and die off the card front and then cut the panels with the Stitched Rectangle Die.

I used a Blending Brush and Pool Party ink to add color to the upper and lower areas of the die cut rectangles.  I stamped the larger tree images from the Mountain Air stamp set in Garden Green ink along the edges of the tree line die cuts and then adhered the tree die cuts over the mountain die cuts on the card front with Stampin’ Seal.  I adhered the layered panel to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Then I stamped the sentiment from the Enjoy The Moment stamp set in Night of Navy ink on a panel of Whisper White card stock and then cut around it with one of the Stitched Rectangle Dies.  I adhered the die cut sentiment to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals to finish it.

I adhered a strip of In Good Taste DSP to a panel of Whisper White card stock to finish the inside of the card.
