Stampin’ Up! Calming Camellia Birthday Card With Video Tutorial

I used the Stampin’ Up! Calming Camellia stamp set, the host exclusive Sale-a-bration stamp set, to create a birthday card to share with you today.  I did a video tutorial for this card on Facebook Live yesterday and you can see it here.  You can also see the video on YouTube here.

Stampin' Up! Calming Camellia Birthday Card

My card was inspired by Inspire.Create.Challenges #107.

I started by stamping the flower image from the Calming Camellia stamp set (Sale-a-bration host exclusive stamp set available with an order of $300+) in Soft Sea Foam ink repeatedly across a panel of Basic White card stock.  I embossed the panel with the Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder and then adhered it to the front of a Thick Basic White card base with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

I stamped the flower image from the Calming Camellia stamp set in Soft Sea Foam ink on a panel of Basic White card stock and then used Sponge Daubers to add Pale Papaya and So Saffron inks to the stamped image and then cut it out with one of the Encircled In Beauty Dies.  I adhered the die cut panel to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the sentiment from the Calming Camellia stamp set in VersaMark Ink on a panel of Basic White card stock, sprinkled it with gold embossing powder from the Metallics Embossing Powders and heat embossed it.  I cut the sentiment out with one of the openings in the Messages Die and then adhered it with Stampin’ Dimensionals to the card front.  I added three Brushed Brass Butterflies to the card front to finish it.

  1. OMG, Amy, this is absolutely gorgeous!! Your colors – the design – the depth of the textures you used….just beautiful! My set is coming – but it can’t get here fast enough!!

    Beautiful!!!

  2. Absolutely stunning, Amy. Thank you for doing the video as well. Can’t wait for this set to get here so I can CASE you!

  3. Does your scratchy old cutting plate make indentations and marks in your paper when you run it through from the scratches?

      • Is your top plate a new one or does it have scratches on it too. My problem is if my plates are too scratched, they leave marks on my die cuts.

      • My top plate is a “clean” one that I don’t cut on. The one on the bottom is the one that I cut with, the one on the top is always uncut so it doesn’t leave marks. 🙂
